Hi GatoBelly , There is not much you can do about the rust you can use an SOS pad very gently to get some of the rust off of the wire. I use Dawn dish washing liquid to clean the actual shade and it works great. The kind with the Oxogen logo works the best. Pour it directly on the lamp and let it sit for a few minutes . I usually take them outside and spray them off with a hose then. The skin of the lamp was used as fire proofing for the inside of ships during WWII so its pretty tough, I would just be carful not to puncture it. Rex Ray has to be from outer space. I still remember seeing his work for the first time. If you're an artist and live with the problems of day-to-day creativity, it is truly amazing when you see someone come up with such an original voice. I have been a fan of his for a long time. When I lived in Boston before I had my own computer I would make my way to the public library to look at Velocity Art and Design's web-site to see his work and all of the other wonderful artists that were there at that time. His work gave me the push to keep going and kept giving me new goals to shoot for and artwork to look up to. My wife and I went out to Velocity Art and Design in the spring and John Tusher showed us around and we got to see Rex's work in person. I like it very much! I think a rule I have when I mix colors for paintings is 4 muted 2 bright. You chose really nice colors and Im very pleased you used one of my paintings as inspiration. I have spent my whole life at junk shops I don't think I would be here today (clothed anyway) without them.It Looks Great!!!!!! Hi bkmdano- No not at the moment. Etsy took its place for me. Etsy seems to me to be a much better marketplace for art than ebay is. I enjoyed my years on ebay though it was were I started showing my art online. I made tons of friends through selling work there.
