I'm so glad I found this post! I had done touch up on my Richmond, VA porch last year, but it's clear that the hardware store didn't recommend the correct type of paint for what I needed.

I've been thinking about repainting this year, so I'll search out that marine paint for my project! Thank you!!!

Having never had shower doors, I may be suggesting something that would never work, but... At the big hardware stores, you can find decorative films that you apply to windows for privacy, UVB-blocking, energy efficiency and the like. I wonder if one of those films (in a design of your liking) could be applied to a shower door.

I have NEVER seen this much snow in Virginia in my lifetime. I'm in Richmond, and we usually don't encounter snow every year. And when it does snow, it's generally not much and only falls over a day or so. My area just doesn't have the equipment to clear roads adequately. I don't know anyone with a snow blower, and it seems like half the folks around here had to go out to buy snow shovels when the first round of snow came through. We've had periods of rain in between the snowstorms, so now there are layers of ice under the snow, making it pretty darn treacherous.

These are beautiful! Last year I made a fun wreath using plastic bottlecaps. (You know how whenever you recycle plastic soda bottles the recyclers never want the caps?)

Well, I didn't want to just throw them away, so, after accumulating a bunch of them, I drilled holes in them, wired them up, and attached them to a foam wreath form that I had used a few years ago.

In order to keep the naked foam from showing, I wrapped the whole thing in green and red yarn that I had gotten at the thrift store. I think it looks pretty darn cool, and it's eco-friendly too!
