We have a West Elm sleeper that is the perfect size for our apartment and we definitely got it for a good price - it was $899 marked down to $499. (

I love the look of the sofa and I like that it folds down to create the sleeping surface rather than pulls out with a thin mattress, as I think it's more comfortable for guests. That said, it is not the most comfortable sofa I've ever sat on and I am concerned about the longevity of the piece. We have had it for a couple of years now and it feels like inner support beams have been a bit compromised and it's starting to feel saggy in certain areas. Also, depending on where you sit, you can get a beam to the back while lying down or across the tush if sitting, that isn't the most pleasant.

I think I'd give it a 6.5 for us based on what we paid and what we need it for (the fact that it's compact and fits perfectly in our current small space were priorities over comfort for us). I would definitely recommend checking it out in the store before purchasing so you can investigate the quality of the piece for yourself.
