It kills me to see Hershey's chocolate pictured with homemade graham crackers and marshmallows. For the love of food get some chocolate that isn't complete crap!

When I was a teenager some friend of our family took me on several vacations with them. I got to do whatever during certain hours and they got free babysitting during times of their designation.
And while I can't imagine it being financially fees-able for us to do in the next few years. I think it could work out well for some.

As the wife of a graduate student who lives in university family housing. I just want to say I feel your pain about NOT being able to move. One day our husbands will be out of grad school and hopefully we too will be able to take part in that smug little american dream of being home owners.
Until then movies, mats, and plenty of time spent outside the apartment, (woo hoo breakfast out!) for the weekend.

Oh how I wish we had bought a video monitor. I can just imagine how much nicer it would have been seeing my toddler was smearing poop all over the walls at the beginning rather than just sitting there assuming he was fussing in his crib and was going to fall back asleep.

You never know if you are going to have a poop smearer or not.

2nd-ing Dr. Bronner's. We buy ours from our local coop but I know target carries some of their scented ones as well.

For me it isn't the decor that's the problem as much as the dishes. Ugh!

I second not being a fan of the nano chair. I thought it would be great for our small apartment but we ended up giving it away and getting a safety first booster that straps onto our dinning chair. It takes up slightly more room when its off but when its in use it takes up a lot less room. It also has grown with our child much better.
On the other hand my mil bought one for when the grand kids are at her house and it works great for her.
One big difference between the two is the tray did not come off of ours and does come off of hers.

I plug up the bathtub for my son while I shower. After I'm done I usually play with him for a few minutes then start cleaning. Then run back and forth to the room across the hall where I can have all eyes on him.

I think its huge to make sure your fridge handle stays clean. I know back when we had an exterior white handle it could get so smudgy and I had such a hard time cleaning it. Then I discovered baking soda. Just make a paste with dish soap and water and it gets in all those little grooves.

I also like the above posters frame idea.

I saw this at BRU when I was shopping for my sons potty seats several months ago.
I really wanted it because it wasn't plastic and it was nicer looking but I opted for the baby bjorn seat instead. I'm so glad I did. This seat has no higher piece for little boys and I know beyond the shadow of a doubt if I had gotten this one I would spend my days cleaning pee up off the floor.
I also prefer the baby bjorn since it secures onto the toilet so it doesn't wiggle around. My son gets really freaked out whenever he uses another over the toilet one because its shifts underneath him as he sits.

I only have three categories of paper replacements. Cloth napkins, rag type dish towels for wet messes and small pieces of receiving blanket that were surged to washcloth size.

Under my kitchen sink I have a two tiered basket holder on the top I keep clean towels and rags and in the bottom I throw all the dirty ones to be washed. Its such an easy system for us.

We keep a roll of paper towels hidden for some really gross jobs though. We go through a roll every 3-6 months.

I second getting a cable turtle, but for the aesthetics I would make a pelmet box (tutorial here http://littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com/2009/09/easy-pelmet-boxes.html ) When you pull up the blinds they will be of sight.
