I considered the box a day thing but got overwhelmed with what to pack first knowing that I had a two months before I had to move. But I had to stretch out the packing due to a muscle disease I have that severely limits how much I can do in a single day. I ended up starting a month before the move after I scratched the box a day idea.
Instead of packing a box a day, I recommend a "project a day" to start. Like the person before me mentioned, stuff like washing and packing extra bedding, then spend a day going through the garage, then a day to sort through clothing (sort out donate or give away clothes for each person in the house). Then a day to go through your junk drawer(s), a day to go through your desk paperwork (sort, shred, recycle and file away). A day to organize tings like craft supplies or whatever you know is a mess or could use cleaning out. Pick a day to go through your bathroom and medicine/vitamins, thrown out everything expired or that you just know you never use. Take a day to bring things for donation, or schedule donation pick ups. I even took a bunch of old toys and kid clothes to a consignment store near my future house and scheduled a pick up date 2 months out for things that don't sell or they will donate them for you if you don't want them back.
Once all of that is done, you can start packing. Pack up chotchkies, art and room decor from every room first because you really don't need any of that. Pack up books next. Then hall closets that have things like space heaters, fans, bedding that you don't need, gift wrapping supplies, toys that your kids can live without for a few weeks, (we left out most of her toys though and packed all of her books and just used the library for books), the kitchen (if you are not moving right away like us, we left out one large and small pot and frying pans, a steaming basked, a strainer, a plate and bowl and cup and coffee mug for each of us and all of our utensils and small amount of containers for left overs and school lunches).
The weekend before the move we split everything else into two days. I was surprised how much we got done in those two days once we put our minds to it, even with only one person packing and me just giving direction and moral support :). We packed up the bathrooms, leaving out one bottle of shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and a travel bag with toiletries we needed. Packed the desk up, random things around, craft supplies, jackets and sweaters, the hanging clothes. Two nights before the move, we packed the pantry food. Last, the night before the move, we packed up our 3 year old's toys that we had left out and the rest of the kitchen (which is nice because it has the most used kitchen supplies and the coffee maker to open and use right away). The morning of the move, first thing was to take apart the beds, put the bedding in bags (or you can use boxes) and then MOVE IT ALL! Then we hired someone to clean after we moved because I was pooped. I tried to clean here and there as I noticed things through out that last month. Wiping baseboards, dusting the windows and blinds, I used a swifter broom to dust cobwebs from the ceilings, I cleaned the shower while I took a shower the night before the move. I did only cleaned a thing a day not to overwhelm myself or my body. But the whole place needed to be vacuumed, swept and mopped. the cabinets/drawers inside and out wiped down and the fridge scrubbed. After all that, all I have to say is, moving sucks.

A Box A Day:
Ridiculously Optimistic Moving Goals

I grew up with a crying Keane above my bed. Even though I was a super emotional, easily freaked out kid, that painting never bothered me. I just loved to stare at. Now my daughter has a similar Keane above her bed, it is a small one of a little serious girl holding a poodle (she is not crying, just serious).
So far my daughter has never mentioned her painting, but if I ever think she doesn't like, I'll take it down.

This is awesome! I am on my way to the fabric store now. I did not want a Christmas tree but I did want something my 2 year old and I could do together, this is better than perfect!

I think robinm gave the perfect answer! We set the heat in my daughter's room to 67 and she sleeps in long sleeve jammies, the two piece kind that places like Old Navy sells and she wears socks and a sleep sack. She sleeps 12 hours straight almost every night, so I assume she is comfy!

I really wanted to use cloth diapers. Unfortunately, we had the opposite problem than most people have. Out daughter got terrible diaper rash as soon as we started using them at about 10 months old. We tried switching detergents, using different liners and even changing her hourly, but her little but just could not handle them at all. We only used the organic bumgenius because I did not want to use synthetic fibers and then could not afford to buy new diapers to try. Now she is back in the 7th generations and we had to sell all of or cloth diapers. If we have another, one, I will definitely try cloth again because I know so many people who use them with no problem.
