I have this, found it for 40 sek (4 dollars) at a thrift store maybe one or two years ago, it has been on constant display on our coffeetable since the day I found it and everyone that visits comments it and plays with it. Apartment Therapy New York | Look! Amazing Endless Porcupine Ashtray |

So interesting to read about living in really risky areas, we live in Sweden, where I would say there are no risky areas to live. Still a lot of people thought we were stupid to move to a segregated suburb, still some of them don't like to visit and think we are crazy to not move before our first child arrives in june. But this is Sweden! You can't walk for more than 10 minutes without finding yourself surrounded by trees or nature in som way, especially not in this woody suburb. I lived in Paris for a while, no one asked me if I wasn't frightened of walking home at night, but I was. I also was nervous when we lived in a nice part of the city we live in right now, where the streets were empty from very early in the nights. People who live here work all sorts of hours, you are never alone when you walk from the station, no matter what time it is. I never feel unsafe, but our friends who don't visit often do. I have not been to the US, I was surprised there even was a question about using the internet for paying bills etc. Even if I still get my bills as paper (some of them at least) I can´t imagine paying them another way than online, only really old people who can not use computers pay them by mail or on the bank office. And the poor security you talk about seems scary, I agree. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Survey: Do You Bank Online? |

I have these chairs! 2 of them, with the metal in brown instead of white. Bought them some years ago in a thrift shop here in Sweden for about 2 USD. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Look!: The Last Tenant's Chairs |

I just wonder, do you buy new sheets every year? And what do you do with the old if you still only have 4 sets, or 2? Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | How Many of Everything Do You Really Need? |

I love textiles, but in our house we have windows i a row from wall to wall, facing the back where we only see trees. To put curtains only on each side of the windows (neer the walls) looks stupid, and to put curtains "in the middle" as well, would kind of ruin the effect of that long uninterrupted stretch of windows where you can only see sky and tree tops. I used to, before we put back our windowsills when we had painted our livingroom; http://www.flickr.com/photos/75372029@N00/213865640/in/set-72157603897512721/ Apartment Therapy Chicago | Tabletop Gardens |

We had this problem in our old apartment, one of our cats started to pee in a corner where we had wood floring, with wide gaps between the floorboards. We finally soaked the corner in spirit vinegar and it worked, the smell disappeared completely. And we placed a bowl with spirit vinegar in the corner for a while to prevent him from doing it again. That worked too. It was such a relief, before that it smelled for months and we almost thought we had to get rid of the cat, which then was about five years old, now he lives with us in our new house, he is nine years, he pees on the floor maybe once every sixth month, but it is not a big thing, we just put spirit vinegar on it and it doesn't smell after that. Pinecones! I can´t help it, every time I go for a walk I come home with my pockets full of pinecones. I have them in bowls and on shelves, and among the pots in our garden. Apartment Therapy - Top 10: Found Objects to Bring Inside Your Home |
