Posts like this drive me mad!

I like MDM and DIY. I don't plan on parting with either anytime soon.

I'll decorate with what I love- trendy or not.

Hasn't happened yet. I'm only 22 and my love for thrifting fills my home with more than enough furniture. I'm sure someday I'll want a nicer couch or something...but for now I adore everything I own. It's all from various thrift stores, flea markets, friends, family, etc, etc. Wouldn't really want to part with any of it.

Meh, I still prefer to have a headboard.

Mine was a $5 find at Goodwill, spray painted white and it works perfectly in my bedroom. Headboards don't have to be expensive.

I love this! I definitely want to do something for my two dogs. They've just been the best dogs and one of them is getting older (she'll be 11 in June).

The portrait I've been thinking about is done by Art Paw (www.artpaw.com) in the painterly style. It's pretty bold but I absolutely adore color. The only downside is they are a bit pricey for my college student budget. Might be worth it though...

My love of animals outweighs my love of white bedding. So, I'll never have any of my own. These are all gorgeous though.

Glad there are other people who change them only once a month. I love the way clean sheets feel but I hate laundry. With work and school...I just don't have the time to change them that often. So its once a month or whenever I feel like they need it.

I definitely share with my dogs. I have two, both about 30 lbs. They sleep on one side and I get the other. It works out really well. They never come near my pillow and sleep longer than I do.

It just wouldn't feel right without them! (:

@SherryBinNH: Some people like cute though. If my SO did this for me, I would be so beyond excited. As much as I love flowers (quite a lot), I don't much care for the rest of what you mentioned. This is unique and so, so awesome!

Then again, I tend to get super excited about little things. (:

I absolute LOVE what you did! I've always wanted a bed like yours but never thought of doing one in that color. It's gorgeous! Definitely going to file that away for the future. Great work!

...but is it really being overused?

I think it depends on where you live. I have never, not once, seen one in real life. Sure, AT has them all over. Perhaps some edgy big cities do as well...but I think the vast majority of people don't even know the print.

I don't have one...but am seriously considering getting one soon.

@Emmi: Every information source on Betta fish I've ever found says their maximum lifespan is around 5 years, average is 3. Where did you get 7? I've done lots of research on them and I've never heard someone say 7 years.

Betta fish do have it rough. Their shipment methods are appalling- not to mention the stupid little cups! Just because they can live in small amounts of water doesn't mean they should. I've had a few Bettas over the years. I do keep them in a larger size vase/fish bowl sort of thing. They've all lived 4 or 5 years (minus the one who had an unfortunate incident with my roommate's cat- so sad). Overall, they seem to be happy little fish. They are so much more than decoration though. They are a living thing- treat them with the respect they deserve.

I'm no where near close to having children. It just isn't the time. That said...I, obviously, stop by ohdeedoh from time to time. The play kitchens are some of my favorite things. I had a big huge plastic thing when I was a kid. I had never even thought of doing something like this. Now it has been filed away in the back of my mind for when I do have kids (and maybe some pictures in a file on my computer) because they are so neat! If you don't like play kitchens...don't read that post. I certainly don't read everything posted here.

I had a tv in my room from the time i was eight until just a few months ago (and i'm almost twenty-two). I got this really awesome vintage style record player for christmas and I really wanted it to be a focus point in my room. At the end of the day...there wasn't room for both the record player and tv. The record player won that battle. I kept the tv because it's a decent one. It's sitting in our laundry room under a blanket. I'll be finishing up my undergrad and going to grad school in two years, so I figure I'll want it then.

Really though, I've been SO happy not having it in my bedroom. I watch way less tv. I'm quite happy to never have one in my bedroom again!

I get the feeling that some think an indoor cat's life isn't quite as great...? Being the owner of three cats, I beg to differ. I've had two of them since they were kittens- the boy is 12 and gets outside maybe once or twice a summer but always comes back. He is small for a male cat though and declawed (not my decision, wish I could undo) so my biggest concern is the big strays in our neighborhood. My youngest just turned one year last month and has never been outside. She loves to sit on the windowsill and watch the world through the screened in window. Perfectly content. My other cat is a female (and she's huge! not fat, just big.) who's two years. We adopted her about a year ago and have no idea what her life was like before us. She seems to have very little interest in the outside world.

Basically, my cats are loved, happy, and safe. They don't miss the outdoors because it's not something they've ever had. I found this information on many websites, "The average life span of indoor cats is about 14 years – though this is reduced to 4 years in cats that are allowed to roam free, exposing themselves to the hazards of outdoor life." and that for me is the biggest reason to keep my furballs inside. There are so many things that can go wrong outside! It's not wrong to keep them in and safe- especially when they're perfectly happy!

I think the usefulness of a dishwasher depends on the situation. When I lived in an apartment with two roommates we had a dishwasher that hardly ever got used. We just did them by hand as we used them. Simple. Now that I live with my family again the dishwasher is used at least once a day- five people plus any friends that are around...which is often. So, it really depends.

I love the Grass dish rack- too cute!

we always take our big tree down shortly after new years. however, being completely honest there is still a small tree up in our basement family room. we don't really want it up...it just is. no one spends much time down there and we've all been busy.

though i may just tackle taking it down tomorrow...now that i think about it. having it up in march is pretty sad.

I'm definitely using a combination of those at this very moment.

I used to have a desk to work at...but I'd get so restless sitting there. So I got rid of it and now use my bed, couch, floor, or kitchen table. Usually the bed or couch. (:

I get what I like. Trend or no trend.

At the end of the day...it's my space and should be about what make me feel good.

I do like the Keep Calm poster. It doesn't fit with my room (I live with my parents to save money while I get my degree). If it did, though, I would definitely get it. Then probably keep it way past it's prime. It's what I do. (:

I get along with my parents really well.

I've recently had to move back in with them and it's going really great.
