My favorite is putting it in a bowl with steamed broccoli, nutritional yeast, salt, pepper, and maybe some earth balance. It's basically the vegan version of broccoli and cheese, but my omnivore husband will make this for himself even if we have cheese in the house.

When I was a kid living in the country, we had these all over. My brother and I loved digging them up and eating them.

I bought this for my husband when we were just dating for coffee, he still has it and it still works great. I want to get another one for spices.

That term has always struck me as a little silly. My husband and I don't eat a lot of meat (1-2 times a week) but I have never felt the need to label us as anything besides omnivore.

I have one, and I use it every day. Between Weight Watchers and the fact that my husband is Dutch and has several cookbooks that are all in grams, it's great. You'd be amazed how small a serving of something is once you measure it out.

I have a mechanical one with a removable bowl, so it's super easy to clean.

I absolutely love Mary's Gone Crackers! I love them with cheese, though if you're a person who likes to eat crackers plain (like my husband) they might be a bit much. I never eat crackers without a topping, so they're great for me. I love the black pepper flavor, while the herb kind is my least favorite.

Kielbasa and cabbage! We love this, and it's so cheap. Here's a pretty good recipe:

I don't add the cajun seasoning or the worcestershire sauce personally. It's great with cinnamon apples!

My husband moved here from Holland about five years ago, and these are some of his favorite cookies. If I don't watch him, he'll eat an entire batch the same day I bake them!

It's my husband and I's first Thanksgiving since we got married, and it's just the two of us this year, but we still wanted to do something special.

For breakfast, we're having bacon, egg, and cheese bagels. A good way to start a yummy of cooking!

For Thanksgiving dinner:

10 lb turkey
mushroom stuffing
green bean casserole
cranberry sauce
mashed potatoes
sweet potato casserole
pumpkin pie

I'm excited!

I loved the kids table when I was a kid. We just didn't have room around the regular table for all the kids. All my cousins and I got along really well, so that may have been part of the reason why we didn't have a problem with it.

Homemade pizza! Some friends are coming over for a night of scary movies, and pizza is the only thing that we all like, is easy, and that I can make a gluten free alternative for. I also promised to make one of them sweet potato fries...

For Sunday, we'll probably just make it easy on ourselves and eat a salad or sandwich. :)

I love Cream of Wheat, though I've never eaten it sweet. Unfortunately, I can't eat gluten anymore, but I stick to grits or oatmeal if I want some hot mush.

We just cook it in the pan, then make a mushroom gravy with some milk, flour, drippings, mushrooms, and onions. It's very yummy.

Ooh, my dog loves ice cubes, but I think I'm going to make him broth cubes when I get home. For some reason this never crossed my mind! They're great because we don't have air conditioning, so I worry about him overheating.

I'm on a strict budget and have certain food sensitivities, so if I see something interesting, I write down the name and brand, then look up what it is, the ingredients, and how to use it when I get home, then I plan it into the next week's meals. One year when I was a kid, there was a hurricane at our house, so we took our dogs (which were usually hanging out in the backyard) and went to a friend's house that had a basement. When we came back the next day, someone had stolen all of the veggies out of our garden, and our herb plants. They also lost a shoe in the mud.

My mom just shrugged and said that if they were dedicated enough to go out there in a hurricane to get it, they could have it.

If it's a breakfast before 9-10, savory. Eating something sweet in the morning makes me feel gross. Now, if it's a later, brunch-like breakfast, I can go either way. However, even if we do something sweet (a sweet muffin or pancakes with syrup, etc) I want something non-sweet to pair with it.
