I live the neighborhood next door to Cherrywood (Windsor Park) and had to smile when I saw the bathroom. Our house has the exact same tile (and a turquoise tub to match). I wouldn't change it for anything!

Beautiful apartment!! And I'm so grateful that I'm not the only one with cats strolling on my countertops.

Gochujang. Skip the "medium" and go straight to the "hot". This stuff is giving my beloved sambal oelek a run for its money in my kitchen.

Not only can I have an entire head of nekkid little garlic cloves, but I can have a new reason for being obnoxiously loud in the kitchen? Cannot wait to try this.

I would have bought that piece for no other reason EXCEPT for the pulls- they're fabulous! What a beautiful makeover- totally jealous.

We went to Mexico City strictly for the street food and enchiladas at Cafe Tacuba.

More recently, while in Cambodia we took a 9 hour night bus ride (a rather surreal experience in itself) to Kep because it was famous for its seafood.

I love the yellow and was also thinking of light grey. I'm also thinking that some black could be useful.

I live in a 1952 house and have the original rose and turquoise bathroom, complete with turquoise tub. We painted the walls (the parts that aren't tiled pink) and cabinet doors white and used black on all of the trim. Black rugs, towels and shower curtain keeps the color scheme from being overly "girlie". I think the same idea could work in your kitchen.

Would love to see some "after" photos!

I have this knife and love it! I have several really good knives in my collection, but the Santoku and my 10-inch Wusthof chef's are the only ones I ever use.

Last year I made a fairly straightforward sage stuffing from Epicurious and it was fantastic. I used homemade French bread and a brown turkey stock (also on Epicurious)- I think that these upgrades made it special. Perhaps something like this would still be traditional enough to appeal to the family but with enough extra flavor/texture to take the win!

My mother and grandmother made drop dumplings so that's the way I do it. I've had the rolled dumplings and they're delicious, but I can't help thinking that they're really just fat, fabulous noodles.
I will certainly have to try this recipe- it looks fantastic!

I really like my spoon rest. I've used a saucer for the same purpose, but somehow it always looked like I missed a dirty dish that should have been placed in the dishwasher. Plus the spoon rest always "lives" by the stove so I'm never caught without anywhere to put my spoon.

For the last several years we've been getting our eggs from a friend's hens. I'm still completely ga-ga over their colors, shapes and yes, wonkiness. I have an embarrasing number of photos of eggs that looked particularly beautiful. And the ultra-orange yolks make the most gorgeous scrambled eggs!

I always have a jar of the chile garlic and a jar of sambal oelek in the fridge. We go through them like crazy! If my recipe already has a hefty amount of garlic then I use the sambal oelek. I love the bright, pure chile flavor in both products.

I get so sad whenever I see a recipe calling for a Trader Joe's product. I love TJ's, and not only isn't there one in Austin, but there is not one in all of Texas! Sheesh...

Anyway, I love miso and this recipe sounds delicious. I can't wait to try it with some of the local broccoli slaw mix.

My traditional pastry brush shed it's bristles. It's very difficult to safely pluck a bristle out of a pan of bubbling caramel. And no amount of washing ever seemed to convince me that the bristles were not slightly rancid. I'll admit that silicone does not spread as well as the traditional brush, but for me it's a fair trade for convenience and cleanliness.

I've used a mini steamer (to conserve counter space) for storing my garlic and shallots for the last couple of years. Works beautifully!
