This is really the only thing I miss with going to induction. I just use the cast iron griddle, but it's not the same as gas.

It wasn't until I moved into a house with an existing Peonie that I fell in love with them. I now have added 4.

But my fav of all time - Lilacs. Although I have a soft spot for snowballs too (just don't have the room).

I'm a recent convert of goat's ricotta. But then again I have fell head over heels in love with our goat cheese lady at the farmers market.

But this list is damn good. I hate being lactose intolerant as I want to eat really good quality cheese all the flipping time.

I'm in the PNW so this time of year fresh and local is limited to potatoes, winter squash, kale, apples and pears. I belong to an organic grocery delivery who has a farm and I try to stick to things mostly from the area, but since citrus doesn't grow up here they import but they label it.

I also supplement somewhat from our food co-op where I tend to buy frozen & local berries as well as the normal local stuff.

For Seattle area - Pacific Fabrics offer several classes at different locations.

I redid a 1 chair that was oh so horrible fabric wise but has serious sentimental value (my great grandmothers chair) and have another chair in process.

I'm a die hard gardner and I still buy my tomatoes and peppers as starts. If you don't know of any good nurseries around you craigslist tends to have people selling their extra starts come spring.

I'm also in the NW. Last spring I bought a lime and lemon tree. They live outside until late fall and I took them in before the first frost. I've kept them in my big sunny window and over the heating register and I have about a dozen itty bitty lemons & limes. There is no way I could grow enough to keep me stocked.

We have Sanelli Knives and confess we do put them in the dishwasher, but also wash by hand. We haven't had a problem. Now if we ever get the Kershaw's we've been eyeing they won't go into the dishwasher. We do make sure to use the steel and get them professionally sharpened every few months.

We actually made our own island. The base was the Metro knockoff from Storables sized to what we wanted and a Ikea butcher Block counter top that we drilled post holes (not thru holes) so the butcherblock fits snuggly in. We have a large rental kitchen that looks like it has enough counter space but it was choppy and really not functional. The island has made the kitchen so much more functional.
