I feel so alone. Am I the only person who really, really loves the 70s and all its bizarre and ridiculous excesses? Especially all the colors and patterns. American Style Through the Decades: The Seventies |

I love rescuing dumpster chairs and re-upholstering them to make them fab. I got this chair off of a curb: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/rudebega/chairkai011.jpg Chairs with Bold Prints and Bold Colors Roundup | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

LowBrowLawnParty: HURRAY! I'd love to see a pic of your couch, too--sounds gorgeous. I think your comfort with your own taste has a lot to do with whether or not you're okay committing to something like a neon couch. I've always gravitated towards bright, tropical colors, and I don't see that changing anytime soon, so I feel no apprehension about not love-love-loving my bright couch in 10 years. If you're the sort of person who repaints their living room on a whim, though, it might not be your speed. How Bold Will You Go with Furniture? | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

My (vintage leather, neon yellow, button-tufted) couch is decidedly the focal point of my living room: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/rudebega/DSCN2371.jpg (messy, sorry!) How Bold Will You Go with Furniture? | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

I love a blue bedroom. I just recently re-did mine from the awful hospital green it used to be to a more tropical light blue called "Belize." J'adore: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/rudebega/IMG_0079.jpg Inspiration: Pale Blue Bedrooms | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

Oop, I made a mistake; just checked my dresser when I went home. The slot is on the SIDE of the drawer front, not the inside--look and you should see a little opening, probably on the right hand side. ... And I found an old pic of it in the vintage shop before I'd decided to buy it. I took a picture of it and dithered about it for several days, you can see some of the rest of the furniture set it was a part of: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/rudebega/chest02.jpg Small Cool 2010: Jennifer's Breezy Lovely Light Small Division # 17 | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

OH I just thought of this, but I bet you could slip those panels out and re-paint them a custom color, if you wanted. Let me know if yours is set up the same way as mine! I'm agog. Small Cool 2010: Jennifer's Breezy Lovely Light Small Division # 17 | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

If yours is like mine, take a look at the little metal panels from the inside of the drawers. They should be in kind of a slot, and they'll probably have that eye-searing lime green on the reverse side that you can see in my pics. The panels on the mirror are reversible, too! If you undo the drawer hardware you can flip them over and slot them back in so that the green is showing, but I think the yellow works just fine in your space. :D Small Cool 2010: Jennifer's Breezy Lovely Light Small Division # 17 | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

Oh man, what a steal! I picked mine up at a "vintage" store, and it cost $200. They had the full bedroom set with desk, twin-size bedframe, and a wardrobe, too. I honestly wish I'd scooped it all up, but for what they were asking, it would have destroyed my bank account. SO gloriously retro, though, and I love the reversible panels. AWESOME idea to use it as a credenza, too, and it fits your space beautifully. Good luck hanging the mirror! I know all too well how heavy that sucker is, you might have to use those heavy-duty drywall anchors to mount your hooks. (Ew.) Found a better one. Apologies, I'm a total '70s furniture nerd: http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a288/rudebega/DSCN2226.jpg Small Cool 2010: Jennifer's Breezy Lovely Light Small Division # 17 | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

OH MY GOD! I have that same 1970s chest-of-drawers! Mine still has the original mirror, though, so I use it as a vanity, and I flipped the panels around to the green side instead of the yellow. AAAH, amazing! It's the first time I've seen it anywhere else! Small Cool 2010: Jennifer's Breezy Lovely Light Small Division # 17 | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

It works--IF your door is perfectly balanced and doesn't catch the insides of the door frame, else the eye-catching paint will get even more eye-catching scrapes on it. Wouldn't work in my apartment :( Everything is old, made of wood, and has a tendency to swell and shrink in the humidity. Secret Color: Painting Just the Edge of a Door | Apartment Therapy Boston |

We had a cast iron clawfoot tub in my childhood home. It was gloriously deep but the iron took forever to warm up in the winter. You could run nothing but hot water and it'd be only lukewarm by the time the tub was half full. Romantic, but not energy (or time!) efficient. Still, the tub was so large I could practically swim in it as a three-year-old, which is always awesome. Choosing a Clawfoot Tub | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

Oh, I recognize that black and yellow room from Colin and Justin's Home Heist. Gorgeous, although I thought the raw wood room dividers were a little over the top, even for them. Color Chips: Going Monochromatic | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |

It's beautifully-decorated and all, but the house kind of looks "grandma" to me. Wealthy, awesome grandma, one with good taste and a lot of money and time, but grandma. Too much chintzy print, white space and dark wood for me, I guess. My tastes may be too color-saturated for this place. Allison Steve's Bethesda Masterpiece House Tour | Apartment Therapy DC |
