I also live in Paris with no oven but I have a large toaster oven and it does wonders! Bake, roast, you name it!

I have a potato ricer that works great (besides being slightly messy) but the other day I was making broccoli mashed potatoes and I decided to use my immersion blender and boy did it work great! Totally smooth, really fast and minimal clean up!

Always turn of the water from it's main line. I know many people who have come home to floods because of burst pipes, especially in winter when they can freeze. Also things like ice makers which are automatic could stop working but the water keeps on coming.

Some minced onions are a great addition while cooking. I always season after with red wine vinegar, olive oil and fresh garlic. It makes a great brown bag lunch with some crusty bread.

Sumac is the best!! It's a must on Lahmacun (Armenian Pizza) and we use it a lot on dishes like stuffed zucchinis (dolmas) along with garlic yogurt. I put it on hummus too!
