I have a 600 sq ft, 1-BR apt and had the same problem! I store all of my crafting/sewing supplies in our coat closet and a series of ikea storage boxes on some bookshelves. This is all supplemented by a murphy desk that I put up in my living room. I've gotta say, the murphy desk has changed my life (and potentially saved my nascent marriage)!
You can check out my supply storage here: http://www.fabricpaperglue.com/2011/01/my-name-is-mandy.html

Love, LOVE this home. So much color and pattern. It's just lovely. One of my favorites, for sure.

I love this!

What I don't love is people unnecessarily dissecting every typo and misspelling.

Nice job. Wow, my kitchen is disturbingly similar...same cabinets, exact same flooring, perhaps the exact same wall color! Check it out here: http://gallery.apartmenttherapy.com/photo/mandy-and-michael/item/215081.

With appliances and everything, ours was under $3,000, but we did everything ourselves except for the appliance installation. Of course, we still have crappy counters, which I'm sure are super expensive.

JeninDC: The rug is from Ikea (where else?!).

I actually don't know which Ikea couch it is. It's similar to the Ektorp but it has only 2 seat cushions instead of 3 and it was cheaper ($349, I think). It also wasn't available online when we bought it about 3 years ago, but it continues to remain available in the Ikea store that we shop at. The back pillows came plain, and I tufted them with some fabric-covered buttons to try to give it some character.

Re: em_470 / mandap -- It is the Dude! I bought it for my husband (then boyfriend) on Ebay like 5 years ago, but there's a lot of Lebowski pop art out there to be found.

Re: britwash -- I don't think they sell the lingerie chest anymore. I got it about 7 years ago.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Wow, thanks for all the nice comments! I was sort of afraid to read them, but now, I feel great!

Yeah, the TVs are borderline relics, and they're a huge pain in the butt to move!

As for the paint in the bedroom, I can't seem to find the paint can right now with the name of it, but it's Behr and it's some kind of greige (grey + beige) color with some hints of green in some lighting.

I painted the scroll design myself, but I mimicked some scrolls that I Google Image searched. I wrote about it here: http://www.fabricpaperglue.com/2009/02/wall-mural.html

I love this restaurant! The open kitchen also really adds to the dining experience.

I guess I've reached a new low, but I can't help but provide the proof: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mandypage723/5149716245/

I will admit, however, that the gap is only 9 inches, not the 10 I had earlier claimed. But 9 inches is more than enough, because the shelves are only 7.5 inches deep. (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10094630)

Sigh.

It kind of seems like the vacuum isn't actually on while you're brushing them. The way it's described, it seems like you might just turn it on once you've brushed them, you push the button to lift it off, and then it sucks it down. Maybe that's not right though.

This is actually my kitchen, and I was (pleasantly...at least initially) surprised to see it posted on here. These comments are incredibly snarky and will certainly make me think twice about sharing my projects on my little blog.

In my defense...

I never thought this was a big transformation. In fact, the title of my blog post on it is called "A Little Upgrade."

Second, I actually carefully measured it such that the refrigerator/freezer completely open. There's about a 10 inch gap between the fridge and the wall that you can't see because of the perspective of the photos.

Finally, regarding the color of my kitchen, my blog post literally says: [Disclaimer: The combination of the kitchen wall color and the over-sized fluorescent lighting makes for absolutely horrid pictures. In fact, whenever I see pics of my kitchen, it makes me think of anything but eating. I've tried messing with my white balance, but even that doesn't seem to help.]

I guess I knew that you put yourself up for scrutiny when you post stuff online, but jeeze.

I did paint that myself! I did a little post about it on my blog if you're interested: http://www.fabricpaperglue.com/2009/02/wall-mural.html.
Thanks!

This is absolutely beautiful. The only exception that I take with it is the bed. It's just too much for such a small/short room.

I really do love all of the colors, but for some reason, it's reading as colors for the sake of colors. That is, there's really nothing in each of the rooms to help give context for the color, if that makes sense.
