Oh a regular day $10 would be my threshold. If it was a special occasion, I'd pay more depending on the ingredients. However, I'd rather buy the liquor myself, because if you're paying $20+ for each one, I could probably make 10-12 of my own for the price of 2 or 3.

What about assemble-your-own quesadillas? Fry the tortillas ahead of time, cook and chop some fillings, and grate a few different cheeses. That way, you can appease a variety of tastes with something universally enjoyed. Once they are assembled, put the on baking sheets and pop them in the oven to melt. Provide a bunch of traditional and nontraditional toppings, and you might even be surprised at what they go for.

The same idea can be used with pizza. Buy or parbake several personal sized pizza shells and let people top them with anything they want.

First off, I wouldn't buy anything that couldn't go from stove top to oven, and with those handles, you couldn't do that. Truthfully, you only need one or two non-stick coated pans (if you don't have well seasoned cast iron) for eggs, and everything else should be at least stainless (or copper), anyway. Check places like Tuesday Morning, Homegoods, or TJMaxx, and get a few decent pieces at a time when you can afford it and as you need them. You won't use all the pans in a set like that anyway to make it worth it.

This happens to me, too, which is why I no longer make butternut squash soup, much to my husband's chagrin. The last time I ate it after I personally made it, my face and scalp itched for days, as well, but that might have been psychosomatic. It does not happen when I carve pumpkins, however.

Regarding the above comments about mangoes, it's probably not similar. Mangoes contain urushiol, which is the same itchy chemical in poison ivy/sumac/oak/etc. Cashews and pistachios have it, too.

Yeah, I'd definitely go with some spread to add to lots of different things. Baba ghanoush would be a good option, too.

Roasted cauliflower and garlic soup packs a nice garlicky punch. Ina's 40 Clove Garlic Chicken would fit the bill, too.

We have done something similar while camping. We make David Tanis's Wild Mushroom Ragout in a camp over on a tripod over the main fire and then put it over split ciabatta rolls that we grill over a side fire and rub with garlic. It's delicious and filling after a day in the woods. You do need to make the mushroom stock the day before, but it's well worth it.

I agree with Lenzai, different breads for different things. Rye (or marble rye) for grilled cheese, Farm Girl Susan's Farmhouse White for BLTs, lots of seeds and toasted for PBJ, a baguette or batard for cold cuts, and ciabatta for paninis.

IMO, a great sandwich has a lot to do with the bread complimenting the fillings and visa versa.

These are seriously awesome. I'm revisiting the recipe because my husband requested them for his birthday dinner tomorrow and I wanted to make sure I have all the ingredients on my list. I mixed a little lime juice and cayenne in with the sour cream to serve and it was perfect. I highly recommend them!

I've yet to see a project by the Novogratzes where I like the whole thing. They always take it just a step to far and make some choice that is garish and out of place (usually the awful art). They seriously need to learn how to edit.

Due to the fact I have a brown thumb and we rent, I do have to buy tomatoes at the supermarket from time to time. Especially in the winter months, when I'm having a craving for a BLT or other tomato focused meal, I'll use Kumatos, which are readily available where I shop. I'm not sure if they are considered Black Tomatoes, but they are definitely brownish-green, and are pretty damn good, all things considered.

Sausage and Pepper Sandwiches. We do this the first night of camping with 8-10 other people, and it's always a hit.

Slice up a bunch of onions and peppers and put them at the bottom of a big dutch oven (we do this in a cast iron one right over the campfire on a tripod). Season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

Then, put as much sausage as you'll need over the onions and peppers.

Allow this to cook for a while with the lid on (you can do it on the stove top if need be - I'd start the heat around medium and adjust from there), until the sausage is mostly cooked and the peppers and onions start to soften.

Grill the sausage to crisp up and leave the lid off the onions and peppers to allow some of the liquid to cook off. Stick the grilled sausage back in the pot, split some rolls, and serve.

It's ridiculously easy and ridiculously good. The onions and peppers get soft and gooey, with the awesome flavor of the sausage drippings and the sausage stays nice and moist. Everything just melds together... I think I want one right now. Slice the veggies beforehand to make it pretty effortless when you get there.

Gah, my mother comments on every single one of my Facebook posts with something ridiculous and cheesy, too, but since I was trying to hold off on FB and she jumped right in, she was friends with my friends well before I even joined.

Also, she doesn't know how to use her damn phone. Sometimes when I call, I'm assuming she tries to send the call to voicemail or silence it, but answers it instead. She doesn't realize it, so I can hear her entire conversation with whomever she's with (which can be very funny). So I hang up and try again, because all I want to do it leave a message, but, of course, she answers again without realizing. This sometimes goes on for 3 or 4 cycles. Now, if it happens once, I just end up texting her with my question.

Thankfully, my father avoids social media and other technology if he can help it. He only has a work cell, which he is adamant about only using for work business.

I know is post is a few months old now, so I don't know that I'll get an answer, but how well do these travel? We're planning a camping trip next month, and I think they would be great to make before we leave and eat as we're setting up camp 6-7 hours later. Will they hold up well in the cooler or will they get soggy and fall apart?

My husband and I watch porn together, and it's certainly not something I'm offended by. With that out of the way, please heed the advice of the 150+ comments before me, and do away with this. This is not what AT is about, and it shouldn't have to be. Please don't just sweep it under the rug, either. Address that it was a misstep and you've reconsidered this direction, and I'm sure your loyal readers (me included) will respect you for it.

I was "introduced" to Molly through her makeup videos via Girl's Gone Child and loved her then. Seeing how she lives makes me love her even more. While it's not even close to my own, personal design style, her home seems so inviting, just like her personality!
