Big fan of the sofa - can anyone identify it?

I think it looks fine. I also wonder about how it's attached. And finally I wonder if there is a powerful antler consortium out there that is paying AT for antler placement in every third picture.

The antlers. Why. Why. Why. Why.

My place in Lefferts Garden had been painted over so many times that I felt like nothing I did mattered; all anyone would notice was the doors and trim with decades of paint. In truth, I was the only one who really noticed.

What matters here is the dog. The incredibly awesome and obviously very comfortable dog.

I certainly adjusted. I lived right on Flatbush Avenue in Lefferts Garden, Brooklyn, in a 3rd-floor studio with the only two windows facing Flatbush. It was loud pretty much all the time, but after a couple of weeks I barely noticed it. Last May I loved to Raleigh, into a house on a 7 acre lake surrounded by another 7 acres of woods. I found I constantly needed white noise to distract me from the sound of my own breathing!

I assume tanlejos is referring to herself and to the author of the piece, both twentysomethings.

The great thing about Lauren's place is how personal it is. So many of these tours have the same trendy features: gallery walls, antlers, etc, and each looks like the last. You can tell the occupant looked for inspiration from other people, whereas it looks like Lauren went with things she likes and make her happy.

I love that sofa and am not seeing a source for it listed?

Great space, lines, light, everything. I love Fort Greene too. I miss the Sunday flea market.

Antlers - oh well. I don't get it and never will.

My parents were bad-ass modernists. They both worked in the space program for NASA subcontractors, first out at Vanderberg AFB in California, and then in Cocoa Beach, from the earliest days of Mercury right through the Space Shuttle. My dad made his own Danish modern furniture. They entertained a lot - I've seen plenty of pics like this: http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g196/stugrimson/scan0004-1.jpg

Haa - antlers have become ubiquitous here, haven't they? Like you, I'm almost surprised when I don't see them. I don't have a problem with them, but by the same token cannot see the attraction at all.

Fantastic pieces, great overall design. Really great. Living room is quite cluttered, but Brian seems to like it that way.

I have one. It's excellent. Once you've dropped the mail and your coat on one of these, you won't want to drop them anywhere else.

Well said, formosagirl. Some people aren't into pets, and I get that. But I'm always amazed at what my dog's presence does to my place. He wasn't my idea - my girlfriend rescued him on a whim - and I was resistant at first. I quickly learned 2 things: 1) he loves me no matter what, and 2) he is incapable of being cynical or bitter or anything other than crazily enthusiastic about being alive. What a great example.

"To be totally self-sufficient, you cannot rely on someone else for utility hook ups. Also, I'm too old to do stairs!! If you're happy, fine. Do you also share in the water and light bills for the main house? How about the property taxes? Do you share those also? My house may be larger than yours, but I pay all of my utilities and taxes."

At no point does he claim to be 'totally self-sufficient.'

He also clearly states that it is not yet in its permanent location, and he eventually plans to add solar panels and water collection.
