I have seen the finish before and have really liked it. In this example not so much. I am not sure why. Perhaps if the white was a little thinned out?

Like clock work the puggy wakes us up snorting and rubbing her nose all over her bed every morning. She loudly drains her nose, shakes her head and clears her throat. This is done daily around 7 a.m. Once she is wide awake, she throws her small but mighty self against our bed, slides down the side, and sighs loudly waiting for us to get out of bed. Because she is now awake, she is really humming along with her manufacturing of noises,a nd there are many noises! It is now 7:15 and we are off to the races.

We have a really small home, so I use the bedroom to escape the kids occasionally, read, grade papers, etc. So usage needs to be factored into the equation as well.

We are thinking about adding a window to a load bearing wall this summer--in the dining room--and are just starting to look for contractors to solicit bids. You should definitely get a membership to Angie's List to help you look for handymen, etc for your home. Congrats on our purchase. Many happy years!

Honey oak cabinets in the kitchen. I hope to either paint them or reface them. And hideous honey oak bath cabinets. We mint paint them some day.

It is a small house, and I wish we had just one more room.

And we have an used fireplace. The kids and I have allergies, and burning wood is not our friend. I would love, love to turn it into a gas fireplace with glass pebbles. As it is, it has a bundle of string lights in it. But it is annoying to have a fireplace and to haver lit a fire in it!

We have vaulted ceilings and terrific light. We added a bookcase under the stairs and ripped out the old tub and installed a gorgeous custom double shower. So I can't complain too much. But I do wish that we had all the cabinets in the kitchen and the bathroom replaced, and that my youngest kid's room was a wee bit bigger. We are determined to make it in this small house until the kids go off to college, and then we will move into a loft.

Love it! I just love the whole place. I wish that AT did more small places with creative folks rather than big budgets and designers! Kudos!

When I read folks' suggestion that books should be taken off a bookshelf, so the bookcase will look whatever, I simply cringe.

If I were a judge, I would tell all of those harping on the 'Xmas' lights (they sell them at easter, for Hanukkah, at halloween, valentine's day, and g-d know when else), "asked and answered. Move along now." Enough already. They are fine. You had them in college, yes, yes, you were a trendsetter, and are so fashionable and discerning today.

Lovely place. Lots of great colors and it actually feels like a human lives there unlike so many of antiseptic places featured on this site.
