Stopped using the top sheet several years ago after a trip to Europe. I love it because I can help myself temperature regulate by sticking my feet out the bottom - so when it's warmer I can still have the comfort of a blanket without overheating.

I agree, skip both of these and get a Room & Board bed - it's the only platform bed I'll buy. Even the models with wood headboards have steel slats that will last a lifetime.

My mom had a day-to-day repertoire of 'cowboy' and molasses cookies that much to her chagrin, I (her only child) never really cared for. I much preferred an oreo but wasn't a big cookie eater in general. I did love her special occasion deserts - german chocolate cake, lemon meringue pie, and chocolate cake with brown sugar frosting which is STILL one my my favorites, although I've never been able to make it successfully myself. She also made a rhubarb crisp that I love and make from time to time.

I agree with the other commenters, you're eating too few calories ESPECIALLY on those days you're exercising. Your body is in survival starvation mode and trying to hold onto everything it can.

I have one! Mine doesn't wash off easily at all, I actually have to use a magic eraser before putting it in the dishwasher otherwise the containers will come out still marked.

I recently faced the same decision and went with a good all-clad stainless steel 10" skillet (good price @ Crate & Barrel right now with a lid) and a lodge 10" cast iron skillet. I like the All-Clad better but the Lodge is nice to have. I got the Lodge for only $7 by combining a couple of coupons at Cost Plus World Market.

Don't know what the author does but I've cooked pizza on parchment without issues. Makes it nice because then I can cut it without cutting my cookie sheet (don't have a pizza stone)

I have a combo salt/pepper grinder and a oxo timer sitting toward the back of my stovetop but that's it.

I also don't get/like cake pops. They seem totally small, unsatisfying and geared toward helping you shove cake in your mouth in the quickest manner possible. I'd much rather get out a fork and actually enjoy a small piece of cake than eat a cake pop. I don't believe I've ever had such a strong reaction towards a baked good so it's kind of weird but they really bother me for some reason! :) I will admit that they look pretty cute sitting in the bakery cases though.

I had a similar dilema and ended up with the Felix barstools from C&B (linked by charlotte222 above) - I love them!

I guess I'm too obsessed with food but I really don't ever forget, and if I did somehow I would go buy something from a nearby restaurant. I do keep a snack/emergencies drawer though with instant oatmeal, honey, almond butter, packaged almonds, some dark chocolate, and an assortment of granola/snack bars. That same drawer also contains my work 'essential' spices like pepper, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes and an assortment of teas. Did I mention I'm obsessed with food? :)

The countertop kit looks great but I can see how it would be a huge mess, and a week of mess sounds like more than I feel like dealing with right now. Now, if only they would come in and do this for me and clean up afterwards for an extra 100 bucks..... :)

On the marker question- just found a solution for this - china markers (I think of them more as grease pencils which I think I've heard them called) which are what a sandwich shop might use to mark your order - are food safe and easy to get at any office supply store (I got mine @ Staples). They wash off super easy with a little soap and water but dont' wear off from normal handling like dry erase markers might!
