I found it cheaper to have a separate fridge and freezer, it uses less energy than a combo fridge/freezer so you should add that to your considerations. I live in an older home with a small kitchen, I opted for a full fridge with a separate freezer in the basement and I love it. Personally, I think it would give your condo an edge. Do your research and see if the square footage varies dramatically. I love the idea! With a condo, it's these subtle differences that will set your space out from others.

Apparently the kid wagons that you tow are awesome - but many people pull the guard up so the kids "have fresh air" but risk nailing them directly in the face with rocks...

I'm totally on the art (only if I really love it) or magnets. My massive magnet collection happily lives in my laundry which seems to be the place I need it the most, ha!

The one with the red doors appears to have knots that bled through the paint (indicating pine wood). I'd say they are solid wood but probably not something desirable like walnut. They were probably meant to be painted. That said, there's amazing stain products or veneer that can achieve the look you want. Paint can also do wonders. If you like the shape and style, then you have a great find.

Two things: you can take down the light fixture and see how the light attaches to the box. If it's through a threaded post, you can buy a shorter one and replace it. I had a similar issue and my problem was that there was a gap around the box. I resolved that by buying a ceiling medallion and putting it up. Gap eliminated.that said, the mice could be eating your wiring so you probably want to get that resolved.

For three large windows in an old house (1940s), we were quoted $14,000 by Home Depot for their budget vinyl windows. I called an Andersen dealer the next day, they quoted $9,000 for the same but with aluminum clad vinyl...so lesson learned, call around. I asked HD to clarify the quote and they told me off, also winning in that category.

That said, we caulked all the windows and that fixed the draft issues on two of them. Now I am going to call in a window repairman. From what I've seen, there's been no dramatic difference in cost of heating but the space is a lot less drafty.
