I once asked the man behind the paint counter at Lowe's, "What's your advice for picking yellow paint for a bedroom?" He replied, "Don't do it."... I ignored him and painted the room bright yellow anyway. Did the walls provoke "crying" or "fighting?" Uh, no.

The room was cheerful and happy, just like Charlie's nursery here. I love the use of stuffed and flocked animals and the built-ins around the radiator. Send your dad to my house!

Thank you for sharing this. Saying goodbye to your childhood home is such a rite of passage. I was lucky to avoid it until this summer, after 43 years. I'm sure I will always be a little homesick for that little Cape Cod.

Thanks so much everyone for your feedback and comments! I've been inspired by so many of the nursery tours on AT over the past few years, so it was fun to give you a tour of Ike's room.

This Angela Adams rug is beautiful and has a similar look. It's also a two-level wool rug so it has the issues that kerryjewell mentions. The raised loops are irresistible to cats.

Right now my tanker is in the nursery doing duty as a changing table. It's too big for the space but too heavy to move elsewhere.

This is so smart. I've been looking for a pair of cute, narrow, afforable nightstands and they've been really hard to find.

I agree with Rucy. It sure looks like Natalie Wood. And I'm not sure I could sleep peacefully with her big head looming above me.

Yeah for West Philly! I hear you on the mosquitos. Because of them I basically ignore my backyard during the month of August.

Love the nursery and the name. My baby Ike is 5 weeks old tomorrow. :)

I found that Michael's offers more size options for frames than Ikea or Target. I was there the other day for some t-shirt display frames and an elusive 12x18 frame.

We have one upstairs in what will soon be the nursery. The desk might become the baby's changing table because we don't want to move the frickin thing. They don't call it a Tanker for nothing.
