I regularly practice the 60-minute cleaning session. It is amazing how much gets done when you don't let yourself get distracted by other things.

I have not completed the Cure due to travel and procrastination but it's better than last year where I printed out the steps but didn't do any of them. This weekend's project is getting the donations made and maybe working on my art framing and lighting. I have a one-bedroom apartment and I wasn't able to get it all done, so those of you with houses (and kids and partners) don't beat yourselves up at all.

Look on the bright side of what you did accomplish!

And I too love the encouragement for getting flowers, I shop at farmers markets at least a few times a week and have started picking up organic flowers as much as possible.

I can't be the only one STILL working on the kitchen, can I?

I had done much of the bedroom work over the last few weeks except for the closet and one corner, which includes a filing cabinet overfull of paper. I did clean up that corner and get (more) all paper into the filing cabinet at least.

I also got my fridge totally cleaned, old condiments tossed, pantry cleaned up and a cabinet and shelving unit in the dining room cleaned out PLUS cleaned the bathroom ahead of schedule, including the medicine cabinet.

AND made some soup and cooked the veggies I had bought last week. It is sort of hard to stop once you start on these projects!

Feeling good about all of this although I do still have to tackle the hidden spots - the closets and filing cabinet still. Figure once I get my new bookshelf I can tackle the bedroom closet that has books still packed up from my move - which will also help with the paperwork and book purge project. And I might need to invite a friend over to help me purge my clothes closet.

Now I just need to the time to take all of the Outbox stuff - which is an Outbox hallway overflow at this point - to donate. Making progress!

Weekend Chores: Flowers, Bedroom Cleaning & Wardrobe Organizing The January Cure: Assignment # 12

I put two projects on my list - finally buying new furniture for my living room (for the apartment I moved into almost 4 years ago) and I ordered a new bookshelf and media console yesterday. Yay me! Just need to decide on fabric for the chairs I want now. And the 2nd project is to replace the ugly light fixture in my hallway. I need to get someone out to look at that to give me ideas of what is practical so maybe I'll research that today.

I am STILL working on my kitchen - I have a box full of old condiments and pickles to toss from my fridge, still need to sort out the freezer and clean the inside of the fridge of all the sticky gunk. Maybe I can get that done by the weekend. Now can someone help me not be the person who has 3 jars of pickled green beans in her fridge?!

But at least I'm making progress on these things thanks to the Cure - some of which have been on the to do list for almost 4 years and some that I just need encouragement to do (like purging the kitchen).

Feeling good about what is done and hoping to get more done as the month goes on!

Wow, that was a project. Spent Friday night, almost all day Saturday and Sunday morning and still not done. And I have a tiny kitchen. Still need to do the fridge & freezer and clean the floor again, but otherwise my kitchen itself is pretty shiny. However my pantry area and work prep tables are still a mess so that's the next project. I got ambitious at the farmers market Saturday but never did get any of that cooked. One of my problems now is that the pile of things to donate is taking over my small hallway, hoping to make progress on getting that out of the apartment this week.

At least this year I'm doing some of the Cure rather than just printing out the tasks!
