i'm baking a cake tonight for tomorrow's get together (friends coming over for tea)

the january cure was success!!!
even though my apartment never was cluttered up: there was too much stuff for my taste. stuff i liked, but didn't used any more. so i bought 'the eight-step home cure' a few years ago. with the help of the 3 magic questions, i was able to let go some stuff. but it was slow and difficult.
last year, in autumn, i cleared my whole wardrobe (including socks, shoes, scarfs ect) and i'm able to say that i now own only clothes, i actually wear. it took 4 years to get to this point. i would never have reached this goal without the book.
while doing the january-cure, my out box swelled and with great relief i saw all those bags leaving my apartment. in summer, i want to paint and redecorate my living room and the dining room, and the january cure was just the perfect way to kick off.

thank you janel, will miss the daily mails. :)

well, will set the timer for 60 minutes to find out what i can do within the time limit.

goal project: mission completed! (will mail fotos)
goal project was to clean the build in book shelve in my living room, which contains about 2,500 books. usually, i do this once a year, but because of an injury, i wasn't able to do it last year, therefore the shelve looked messy and it bothered me a lot.
finished the job plus almost all other tasks concerning the living room. so tonight i'll clean the glass of the frames, vaccum sofa and a récamiere plus wiping the bath room and dining room floors.
i also emptied the massive outbox on saturday and got my flowers. :)

i did this a couple of times over the last two years. i still own more stuff than i actually use, and will use everything up, bit by bit.
what i need to do is to get boxes for my make up, so i find things that i need faster.
small boxes from ikea or muji are already on my list for saturday's big apartment-shopping trip (which also includes emptying the out box at a charity place and city clening!).

i check my cords regularly, because i don't like any cord clutter in my apartment, so it's a 'day off' for me. YAY! :)

will work on my 'big' january task, the book shelve.

Worth It: Clear Up Cord Clutter January Cure Assignment #14

i kind of looking forward to this task and hope, i can finish it on saturday: i want to wake up in a clean and organized bedroom on sunday, knowing, that i got rid of another pile of clothes i don't wear any more. i store two boxes with fotos in my bedroom and one of my apartment related goals for 2014 is to reduce the amount of fotos so that they fit all in one box.
another bedroom related task is: i want to replace one of my two bedroom dressers where i store bags, hats/gloves, scarves and my fabric stash. the new dresser (i do a trip to ikea next week) will be a bit smaller. therefore i have to let go a few bags and scarfs and disassemble the old, broken dresser.

something i won't do this weekend is cleaning the bedroom-window: i always do the big window cleaning in may, after the heavy april rain.

wishing everyone good luck and a FULL, OVERFLOWING OUTBOX! :)

totally failed. :(

i watched a film on telly. i really wanted to see it, and it was really good.
i will do this somewhen else.
above, i have to think about how i can implement media fast in my daily life on a regular basis.

already halfway point! wow, that was quick.
i didn't succeeded in all assignments, although i tried to. but so far the best thing was cleaning the kitchen, something i wanted to do for such a long time. it feels really good every morning to enter a clean, decluttered and organized kitchen. :)))

my goal project is:
to dust, clean, declutter and organize my main book shelve in the living room, which contains about 1,500 books.
what have i done so far/ today:
decided i need two boxes for magazines that i don't want to throw away but also don't want to see in the open shelve. magazines and some merchandise of my fav bands will be stored in boxes in a s special storage space that i have in my small hall. (old berlin house: my ceilings are almost 4m high and i have build in an extra floor over half of my hall in order to get some storage space for thing, that i cannot store in the cellar.)
decided that i have to let go of some books i bought 2nd hand twenty, thirty years ago. no one will ever read them again.
had lunch with a friend who owns a spacious car. friend agreed on driving driving me to ikea.

i just found out that 3) will also meet perfectly the assignment for january 24-26. :)

i feel very good and well organized right now!

i'm writing about the cure in my blog. sadly, it's in german only but i might consider, writing a summary in english as well.

this is tricky, i have to think a while on what to do here.
there's a small shoe cabinet made of aluminium which surface i possibly use as landing strip: but in the near future, i want to get rid of it. i want my entrance to be white and empty. :)

that was a HARD WORK!
i spent about 12 hours with the kitchen organization and cleaning and i still have not finished the job: the shelve with cooking books. i have more than 100 cooking books, at least 1/4 have to leave my house.
on the plus side: i invited friends over for dinner: salad of warm beet root with walnut oil dressing and roasted walnuts; scaloppine (veal) in lemon sauce with roasted radicchio, fennel 'au gratin' and chicory braised in fresh oranges. finally: fresh fruits. ^^

i skip this task.
i have an upcoming surgery (broken arm will be fixed) at the end of january - that's one of the reasons i joined the project: i want to get parts of my apartment into shape before going into hospital. after the surgery, i have to spent a lot of time at home and i want it to look nice. :)
