Fini! Feels so good. Found my boots that I thought my daugther took to college with her and found the sea glass calendar that I forgot that I bought at the beach this summer. Feels so good. I finished all the cleaning yesterday, flipping the mattress (by myself with help with tip from Apartment Therapy search), washed all bedding, including swiffering the walls and ceiling. I left the closet for today. Each took about six hours each. I can see my closet floor and my bedroom floor again. So glad that I did this challenge and look forward to doing it again next year. Trust me when I started today I wanted to take a nap instead but I plunged forward and glad I did. Time to relax and watch Australian tennis open in my clean bedroom. My husband has been impressed by the January cure and has been helping out by either cooking dinner or getting carryout so I don't have to stop. He's injured right now so can't help with much else at the moment but I have some projects for him that he is looking forward to when he is healed.

I started on my month project by posting our giant armoire on freecycle. I've been using the entertainment armoire as a linen and catch all cabinet for over a decade. It's time to find a new home for it and turn the nook into a legitimate linen closet. I'm thinking either Elfa shelves or something from Ikea. I found some 96" curtains that I forgot about during my clean up that will work nicely as curtains to cover shelving that I plan to install.

When I started this Cure I didn't know if I would be able to finish it b/c my husband was injured but it all worked out, thankfully. Thank you Apartment Therapy for creating the Cure. Kudos to everyone for giving it a try. I'm glad I did.

Fini. Hallelujah. Sitting down for the first time in two days it seems to watch all my taped programs. Thank you January Cure. If I don't get anything else done this month I'll be happy to have scrubbed my kitchen top to bottom. Feels good now that it's done. I know we were supposed to use green products but wanted to give a very clean scrub. Will start with green products going forward. Finally got my flowers and placed them in the kitchen where everything is pristine.

6.5 hours later and I'm still not done. Two more cabinets and 4 shelves to complete, countertops, stove and floor. My aching feet and legs. Looking good though. My outbox is filled, 3 bags for donation and tons of recycling. Night night.

I'm behind schedule. Note that I have a badly injured husband from a bad bicycle accident so when I started this challenge I wasn't sure that I would make it through. At best I've done parts of all assignments except I haven't purchased flowers yet. I will do that tomorrow along with a manicure and a pedicure. So I am in the middle of the kitchen cleaning and reorganizing. This is exhausting but i know I'm going to feel good when it's all done. Taking a break and got a late start today due to one family drama after another. So I did the reverse I cooked a great dinner first, cleaned up the dishes and think I got started on kitchen at 5:30ish. Three cabinets and 7 shelves down and 5 cabinets and 9 shelves to go before I even tackle the countertops. I am working from top to bottom so dust dirt falls on counters that haven't been cleaned yet. I have found that Magic Erasers with diluted Pinesol is working wonders. I am ashamed to say that I found oatmeal that said discard by 1994 when my daughter was born. ha! Break is over and back to work. Wine and music helps with this project too!
