I too want to know about the rug(s)! And some paint colors if they know them.

Lidded baskets that are the right size can be hard to find. I just lay a dishtowel or other cloth over the top of the items in the basket, tucking in the edges so they can't be seen. Does the job and is easily washable.

Me too, mzp! My black, composite sink keeps a sinkful of hot water hot for a long time, something I appreciated so much in the years that I didn't have a dishwasher, and still appreciate now.

Just gorgeous! It makes my heart sing and melt simultaneously. I do echo the calls for kitchen pics (especially since she mentions the transformative hardware change!) and more of the pup.

Butternut squash color, also in a small room with a window that looked out on a 'breezeway' that was below grade (equivalent to no window). You know, to 'warm up the room'. The room felt radioactive, and looked that way glowing through the window into the walkway area. Bad, bad, idea.

Can someone explain the AT fetish of having 12-15 inches of a relatively small rug under the couch? It makes the rugs look crummy, and the room look out of balance. As a peeve, it's right up there with the ridiculous rule of hanging pictures at eye level as if we're all standing around in our living areas rather than sitting.

@lmh1500. OMG, thank you for saying this! I see so many couch/art arrangements here on AT where the art is free floating above the couch. No relationship at all.
I'll just add that in a living space we're usually looking at art from a seated position not standing up, so the whole 'eye level' rule is silly.

Gosh, so much loveliness. And a reminder that I would sell my soul for high ceilings.

I'm with befre, a glass shop will do wonderful things for not much money. Well finished edges and tempered glass will be very important, and they know what the weight limits are too.

Lovely. But good grief, will you AT folk (especially if you're an editor on a design blog!) never get that the word is complementary not complimentary.
