p.s. And I love what she's wearing!

whoa, I am surprised at how much I liked the pictures "after the jump." First, "1000 acres" reminded me of the recent article about the amicable billionaire divorcee who got the 140 acre home and I thought you can't walk that in a day but what charming interiors designers invested time in creating back in the old days. Oh, man. I never get excited or desirous when I see the pricey apartments in Curbed.com but I may not yet be desirous but I certainly like the look of this old home. It's totally cool.

I'm sorry to sound like David Mamet's Edmund but $75 is too much money.

I live in a house that is too heated and no one turns out the lights when they leave for the day. But I don't have heat in my room and use a sleeping bag as a blanket to keep that heat on. In no way do I then compensate for my "saving" by doing something spendy with the utilities. I don't even like to use tin foil for lasagna because I know that it is disposable. I need a grey water system as does the rest of the world. I wouldn't flush more if I was using grey water though. We need to be forced to do what we should. Ralph Nader shouldn't just be a 70s pop culture phenom.

I think my ISI silicone mixing bowls can be used for steamed pudding as well but I don't think I will be making pudding anytime soon.

ew.

It's none of my business if people in NYC act like this is the second coming of International Soup Kitchen or H&M but Japan can offer better than this. This stuff looks too self regarding and trying to be something instead of just being. Which reminds me, is the city awash with shoppers shlepping that notaplasticbag bag?

wow, that is molto hideous and hard to dust. I remember that 12000 or 3000 original design that this rips off. It was nice but even nicer when some Canadian Sicilian on HGTV recreated it for like $20. His and the original design is a better combination of sparkly and spartan.

This would get on my nerves once I ran out of room for one group of items and had to compromise by putting additional pieces in another space in the unit or elsewhere in the room. I would avoid this thing like the plague and resist its cuteness.

I would want the beds in the home to be the same size and shape so that all the bed sheets would be the right size.

WOW, that is much wilder than I imagined her apartment to be from reading descriptions in her interviews.

NYC has reached 37 degrees this week and I don't turn on the heat because my duvet is actually a -40 Coleman sleeping bag and I wear a handmedown LL Bean fleece jacket or the more expensive but incredibly toasty and draft blocking Kashwere bathrobe. I didn't have the heat on at all last winter because I had these three items.

Thank you so much for posting this. We had a family connection who made these for her friends and we always wanted some.

I still have three pieces of that same furniture and I don't know what to do with it. I was thinking of painting them the same color as my walls. I have a dark brown macho wood headboard. Agh.

I've been reading gardenweb and the usenet newsgroups for years and the ideas put forth by Ms. Lapine and Ms. Seinfeld are not original to them at all.

I like box spaces. I switched out my larger bedroom for a smaller bedroom and I can reach all four walls without getting off my bed. I am glad Maxwell posted this house because it is entertaining to look at the photos. Keep posting whatever catches your fancy.

I liked living in a small apartment when I was a baby more than I liked being in a house. I remember that day last year and the days preceding it waiting for the news. She looks great. Happy Birthday!
