Not much of anything will be going on at my house for the next few days - family ski trip instead! Plus, I need to make a trip to Ikea to start working on my daughter's room and that won't happen til next weekend (nearest Ikea is over an hour away). I'll try to do some cleaning and decluttering in her room this evening though!
The Halfway Point!: Project Progress The January Cure: Assignment #11

I've done a lot of work in the kitchen over the past few months, including tackling the dreaded spices. However, there's still some purging that needs to happen and the fridge and stove need a good cleaning. I'm going to try the ammonia in a bag trick for my burner grates and oven racks - I've tried every other method of cleaning I can think of to get the black, burned on gunk off them and nothing has worked.

After doing several little things while snowed in last weekend, I am going to tackle something a little larger for this project: my daughter's room. I have plans for Expedit shelving for both toys in the room and clothes in the closet as well as building an Ana White loft bed. We'll see how far I get!
You Can Do It: Pick a Project to Cross Off Your List January Cure: Assignment # 5
|1/8/14 09:43 AM|
Floors were recently cleaned and all my cleaners are already green so I focused on the little things on my project list. I got a TON done this weekend so thanks for jump starting me! I thought making a list of everything would be intimidating but it actually felt empowering (even though there's basically an entire kitchen reno in there). No cut flowers for me, though - I understand the idea but it's hard to find local, sustainable flowers where I live and the global flower industry is a pretty nasty business. I'll try to pick up some potted plants from my local nursery throughout the cure.
