My entryway is into my already small kitchen. I would love to eventually get something with minor storage below for shoes and such, but for now I've taken one of my rectangular bar stools from the table and made it into a flat surface and use the space below for minor shoe storage. My biggest problem is having multiple shoes and never wanting to put them in my extra closet where they belong.

I am going to try and spruce up this small part of my kitchen tonight, and hopefully start using some of the elements I installed when I moved in a little better, including a large dry erase and thumb tack board for reminders!

Well, I'm finally home for the day, but I've got to drive out of town to run some errands. I'm going to buy my flowers for this weekend and possibly a house plant if I can find one to make up for not having flowers last week, as well as some items needed for my picture framing and my project off of my list.

Super excited to pick out a recipe to try out, about to take care of that now.

I have some photos and a typed page that have some personal significance to me, so I'm thinking I may frame the two photos and the typed page and somehow collage them together. Right now they're on the wall with tape, but I think they'd look much more crisp and clean in frames.

I've lived in my apartment for a year and a half, and I have done hardly anything to own my space and really make it feel like home. I finally feel ready for that, so I want to take all of these white walls I'm surrounded by and make something of them. I've done a little bit in my living room to combat, but I'd love to dress up my bedroom and my kitchen and get them to rooms that I can't wait to spend time in.

I know it's not much, but most of my other "projects" are really "God, stop being such a slob" notes or are already covered by future assignments in the JC. I'll take some photos tonight with how amazing the apartment looks NOW compared to just a few days ago, and then get some more taken after I get some more decor up and rolling.

I weeded my closet when I came back to my apartment from the holidays, and already have a sizeable box of clothing that needs to be donated. A lot of it consists of stuff I just don't wear anymore, or have lost enough weight that it no longer flatters when I wear it.

I have three or four boxes still here from when I moved in August of 2012, I need to go through them and really decide what I need and what I don't.

I have a habit of using furniture rearrangement as a way to force myself to clean. I did this in December in my room and did it in my living room before I found the jc. I even had this moment of visualizing what I want my kitchen to be yesterday between cleaning bouts. I have a very awkward space, my apartment is made up of 3 former hotel rooms that have been redesigned for apartment living needs. So my kitchen occupies the space that a hotel bathroom would--wall beams at the corners still included. I told myself that a rectangular breakfast bar would work great in that space, so instead I'm playing around with my own furniture and moving my neglected table over to that space and moving the butcher block caddy I have (for extra counter space) where it once was to get it closer to an outlet for small appliance use.

I still need to finish the floors in my bedroom and get my mop out for the small amount of linoleum I have, but I'm very pleased with this process. I just wish I could jump ahead during this snow day so I don't fall behind later this week!

I started cleaning up a little bit before I found this, so I'm kinda juggling a few things around. I still need to take care of the floors in all my rooms but the living room, but I'm making some good headway on the clutter. Just signed up today, so I'm giving myself some catch up time. It also helps that I'm a teacher and school was cancelled for tomorrow due to the extreme temperatures expected tomorrow!

I don't have flowers, but the next time I'm out I plan on getting some (if I can find a place that sells them in my small town), but I have the sweet scents of my scentsy pots making the place seem much more cheerful for the time being.
