Thanks everyone, I didn't even realize my question had been posted here, internet was down and i'm just catching up on my AT! And yes, I'm totally in favor of the good people of Durham making money, I'm a big Duke fan :)

I was hoping for cheaper because spoonflower charges a flat rate minimum from my understanding. And since it's for a shower curtain that will rarely get touched as opposed to a quilt you might snuggle up against your cheek, I could go with a lesser quality fabric. Also since there is no color involved, other than black I wouldn't be using any of their (what I imagine costly) pigments which I figured are factored into the cost.

I didn't even think about copyright infringement since I wasn't going to sell it. I actually got the idea from seeing the print on party favor gift boxes and tags on etsy, which I'm not sure if copyright was cleared for that. Perhaps I'll get a plain white extra white shower curtain and give silk screening a go. Thanks for the link Phalaenopsis.nomnom, I actually looked at that one, but it's not wide enough and that bright red won't work in my grey, pale pink, and white bathroom. I invested in pale pink Restoration Hardware bathsheets so I'm pretty set on that color scheme.

Thanks for all the input everyone!

ha, I'm such a sports nerd! When I saw this post I instantly thought it was David Wright of the Mets.

A great book on this is "Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant" - lots of essays on living alone and what was eaten, including recipes. I think this was reviewed on the kitchn site at some point. Great read.

Aww, this movie sounds great. I was laid off in February, and while not having an income wasn't something I was prepared for, I was so thrilled. I say I am funemployed now. Since then my apt is cuter, I'm alot healthier (and 20 pounds lighter) and since I don't have a job I dread anymore I have become a morning person. I feel like it was just the kick in the pants I needed to pursue something that I actually love, and realized that life is too important to spend settling for something less than what I'm meant to be doing.

It is sweet lemonade indeed!

Your bathroom almost makes me weep! So gorgeous! Also loved the movie Evening, very nice jumping off point. And I second whoever said how nice it is to see a really cozy non MCM place.

But yes, where are the clothes kept?

I love, love, love this sink! So far it's the best thing I've seen that would work in my impossibly tiny sink-less bathroom. Definitely need the source.

Thank you all so much! To those that asked about it, there is no other wall or other side of the bathroom unfortunately, basically there's enough space for the toilet, then the teeny tiny shower stall (24x24 inches) is right next to that, there's only enough space in front of the shower to stand there and get in. Thanks for all the suggestions. I will run them by my landlord and see what he's willing to go for, he's a pretty good guy so I'm hopeful :)

Thanks again!

haha, before I knew the story behind the Keep Calm poster, it always reminded me of Tim Gunn. It just sounds like something he'd say on Project Runway.

I guess my apartment is more of an alcovey studio or a jr. 1 bedroom, because I don't really do all those things in one room. My kitchen is a separate area with space for a dining table and there's a tiny entryway and then I have a living/bedroom combo. I have a pillar/column thing right smack in the center of the room, which limits furniture arrangements, but is a great dividing line. On one side it's the living room and on the other it's the bedroom. I'm thinking of putting some curtains on tracks to give even more of a feeling of separation.

Keep it clean! Have a place for everything and then everything can go back in its place. The slightest messiness looks way worse in a small space. Freshly cleaned floors with Mrs. Meyers Lavendar scent instantly makes the place feel airier.

I had no idea you could really make a real house of straw! I thought that was just for little pigs and huts.

The alarm clock is a cruel device, but a necessary evil. I have one that buzzes by my bed and at the other end of my apartment, just right outside my bathroom door I have one set to ESPN radio, so when I do get up I can hear Mike and Mike while I shower. This usually works, but has also led to some odd sports dreams. I am curious about this lamp on a timer idea. Where do you find such a thing?

I had Obama-overload, even before he got elected. I agree with Theo, Mrs. Mack and Brandyjane. He seems like a nice enough guy that can deliver a feel good speech, but I'm not drinking the Obama kool-aid or hanging a photo of him in my home. So far it seems he's just been the beneficiary of anti-Bush sentiment, but I do hope that he does do a good job and prove himself worthy of all the hope, optimism, and unicorns.

I kept new year's resolutions down to three, anymore and I lose track and forget.

1. Take fewer taxis, and therefore save more money. If I wake up just 10-15 minutes earlier I can take the bus/subway.

2. Eat more veggies, more varieties and more often.

3. Not at all home related, but get down to 9min/mile pace.

You guys have me craving coffee now.
