Thanks for the feedback, Carolyn and KeepinItReal13. The Grevback looks nearly identical to the one in Carolyn's photo, except the finish of course.

I've got a big job to do this weekend, then. Our closet is an eye-sore, full of all kinds of clothes, boxes, things I've been meaning to get rid of... There's also my filing cabinet which I've been meaning to totally reorganise and move into the office. And the bedsheets! It'd be nice to have sheets that actually fit our mattress.

It's so easy to simply shove everything into our bedroom since we live in a shared house. We don't want to clutter the common areas, so into the bedroom it goes! Not anymore, though. It's time that every object gets a "home".

How do you find using the shoe cabinet behind the door? My entryway is very awkwardly shaped, so I'm thinking I may have to do something similar... Either that, or perhaps use my closet organizer to hold keys, mail, mittens & hats, etc?

Over the summer we hosted a number of "dinner & game" nights, so I think it's time for a movie night. :) I can't wait to paint an invitation using watercolours. I'll likely scan it and send it as an e-vite.

And as a few others have already mentioned, I'll also be using today as a catch-up for the kitchen assignment.

January Cure: Assignment # 8

Hmm, we kind of went off track by accident. On Friday I wiped down the walls behind the counters/stove/sink, wiped down the stove, the dishwasher, and removed the tape gunk on the fridge. Saturday we had guests who stayed the night, so we didn't get much done. On Sunday we set out to install a task light and reorganize our garbage cans (we have three in my city), but it just wasn't working out. Discouraged, we took a break and ended up tackling the garage afterwards. We can now park our car inside!! The bathroom also got a good dose of organization. So, kind of off track, but I feel great about how the house is coming along!

For me, it's definitely decluttering/organization. The credenza in my living room has served as the go-to space (including the surface) for objects that don't have a home, so it's become a bit unsightly. Last weekend I managed to empty two of its drawers! It's time to put that space to (functional) use.

Keusadilla, is there someone in his family that would make better use of it? If it's in good condition, giving it to someone he knows might help with the remorse of having "lost" it. He'll still see it when he visits said person, and it won't be in your house! (Btw, may I ask why he's attached to a fridge??)

DONE! That was an exhausting task seeing as we moved all the furniture to vacuum behind & underneath. It feels great to have clean floors; it's like a bit of weight has been lifted even though there is still a ton to do. As I was cleaning there were a few more things I noticed that needed fixing, so they're on the list now but likely won't make it on the "top five" for the January Cure.

Oh boy, for us this is a big task! Most of our house is carpeted and we have a labrador, so I guess it's time to pull out our trusty Pet Hair Magnet. Just thought I'd link to it since it's been a life saver for us. :) Our vacuum isn't the greatest so it really helps get the hair out from the carpet next to the baseboards.
