Was the 3rd picture part of a house tour? I love the art on the wall!

8 Tips For Creating Living Spaces You'll Love For a Long Time

Also want to add what I am enjoying most about the January Cure (Or as I affectionately call it, the JC). My husband and I tend to focus on one area of the house at the expense of others. We get one area tidied up, on to the next, only to have to go back to the room we started on and tackle it again. The JC has helped us think about sustainable storage and organization solutions in the 'problem' areas of our house so that we can just maintain vs rehaul an room every time we need to clean. Rather than feel so overwhelmed that I don't know where to start, the JC has helped me to prioritize what we I can do now to make things easier on us and I feel great after I get it done. Anything else we may want to do in the house gets added to our 'master' list, broken out by room, which we can look back on and re-prioritize as we cross things off the list. Thanks JC!!! :)

Yes! I have our joint/common paper situation under control, but my home office is a disaster right now. Looking forward to tackling it this week!

I keep my tupperware containers and lids in separate drawers and group them by size and shape. I don't know if that would work for other people, but I find it easier to find things if they are stacked together but if the lids are in a separate drawer I don't have to dig underneath containers for them.

I did a serious re-work of our kitchen a coule of weeks ago, so it's super organized but we definitely need to go through the fridge, pare down on the number of containers we have that are never used and get rid of some chippy dinnerware. Maybe it'll be an excuse to get a new set.....

When we moved in, a man whose family originally owned our place stopped in and gave us an aerial photo of what the house and property looked like before it underwent extensive renovations/additions. It was a great housewarming present, but it was in an old frame that had been yellowed by smoke. I just brought it to be framed last week and it will be ready to hang on the 28th! Guess this means more time for me to think about how I can get some of the less used shoes and coats out of the entry closet and stored in an organized way somewhere else!

I'm going to reorganize our entry closet - look at some shoe storage inspiration and move the shoes I don't wear often from the entry closet to the closet in the master bedroom. And think on where I'm going to put the 30 coats in there that are preventing us from hanging any guests coats up. Good luck everyone! I had a massage after some intense floor scrubbing this week end and it was glorious!

You Can Do It: Pick a Project to Cross Off Your List January Cure: Assignment # 5

this is a great challenge! My mom and step dad are coming to spend tomorrow night with us and, with all the snow, 2 dogs and a partner who doesn't always take his shoes off, the floors are in much need of a good scrub. And I love the extra push to really move stuff around and get in there goodOn that note, does anyone have suggestions on what works well to really clean wood floors? Usually I just dust mop them then use a tiny bit of warm water and soap when they need to be cleaned further. We mostly use eaerth-friendly cleaners now, but the last little while we have gotten away from that, so I will take stock of what we need and make sure that what we use is earth-friendly. Thanks for the extra push! My partner's favourite part will definitely be the flowers.

Love this idea - was thinking of doing this myself!

I am! Although, I may have cheated and started some of the decluttering/organizing projects that I wanted to get done, but that I didn't want to be part of the month long challenge over the Christmas holidays. So thanks for the motivation already AT team! I've been holding on to a lot of the 'to do's' of each room in the back of my head. Since we have a pretty big house I'm probably only going to focus on a few areas so I don't get too overwhelmed - and painting is a big one for me too!
