Hm, what do I do? Check AT, amongst other things. Oh goooood, it's happening right now, isn't it?!

As a grad student I have to agree with most other commenters on this, I'm afraid. The single most important thing for me is a desk with good light and storage for books - and a desk, most importantly, that I don't need to clear each night before going to bed. Which I guess you'd have to do with a murphy bed/desk-combo.
And also yes to the kitchen appliances seeming overkill. It is completely possible to get by without a dishwasher and with an under-counter fridge (even sharing it with a roommate works). My priority would be a table to sit down and eat at, too.
On the upside, I do love the blue bathroom. It's super cute.

I love my roommate to death! But then, we've been friends for years before moving in together. I don't know if I could do it with strangers.

As a non-American (German, here) it is hard to wrap my head around the idea of not being allowed to drill holes in the walls of a rented apartment. Complete non-issue here. (As is painting walls.)

That is an amazing, interesting post. With some of the first photos, I can hardly believe those are IKEA pieces.

This is obviously part one of an alphabetical list. (Hence: Alabama through Maryland). ;)

on topic: I love several of these. Actually regret not living in the US right now.

What a cute, whimsical home. I'm in love. And the "veggie" taxidermy is too fun.

Craft studio would be nice, but I think I'd have to go with library. (Both of these are somewhat weird choices considering I currently have ONE room, which is bedroom, living room, office and well... craft room and library.)

I started using up all those little sample sized toiletries, half empty bottles and so on rather than buying new during the January Cure. I haven't bought anything but shampoo and toothpaste in three months and both my wallet and our bathroom are thanking me for it. :D
