The list does a pretty good job describing London to someone who's never been there. The only glaring omission is Brixton in South London. The basic rule of thumb is things get more affordable the further East and South you go.

Re sheets v duvets in European hotels. Yes, most European hotels have top sheets and blankets. It might be to cater for American tastes, but it's also a sleeker, more formal look. Duvets are more informal and domestic.
