I would love to paint my kitchen, but it's salmon-coloured Laminex - any tips? The colour is abominable :(

I'm extremely organised but the three other people who live in this house like to destroy my organisation daily.

I think the lighthearted fun is just charming! It's not my thing, but I really can appreciate the love and sense of humour in this place :)

I've repainted a yellow feature wall in my son's room to grey after 2 years and we totally repainted my older son's room from blue to grey after three years. It REALLY needed it after the new carpet went in and we could see how grubby the blue was.

I was so sick of the blue because I let myself get railroaded by my husband and dad into a blue I hated.

Some of those names I wouldn't go for in a pink fit! BRICK? For pete's sake!

Popularity also has everything to do with locality. We know one other Theo in our entire area even though I won't pretend it's totally uncommon. And Sloane? Is that a popular name? Where? Never heard of it as a first name!

There are also some on there which I have on my list for any future children however unlikely that may be. Saffron, Casimir, Electra, Ione, Isolde. I also think Blythe is underrated and I happen to love Inigo - who the hell cares about that movie?

Oh c'mon Gypsymomma! Let's not turn this into an attack on parenting, lighten up a bit huh? Surely paernts who have no sense of humour aren't too nurturing either?

These pics will be treasured forever and it's such a short period of time that they're like this. I think she's celebrating her little person and for sure she'd set it all up beforehand, then quickly snap baby before putting her safely back in her bed.

I think they're adorable pics :)

I love the desk! I've always adored the name Ursula and the nickname Lulu had never occurred to me. I think it just shot to the top of my girl list again. Lovely! I just wish our surname didn't start with L :(

hnhkt are you for real? What an insensitive thing to say. we all feel different things when we become parents and illness is a very real danger.

I always ask new parents how they're feeling, give them a few help numbers for feeding and medical advice and say I will leave it until the 8 week vaccinations to come visit. this gives them an out if they don't want visitors, or they can insist we come. That way I get a feel for where they're at and the visit is on their terms not mine :)

I will never forget one of my husband's friends walking unannounced into my hospital room an hour after I had an emergency c-section after 40 hours of screaming. If I hadn't been so doped up, I would have killed him with my bare hands.

Hey! I've been making those for about a year!

I buy frozen chopped spinach from the supermarket (it comes in cubes so you can unfreeze a little at a time), and spread it over one of the tortillas. Another idea is to mix with creamed corn. Add cheese, toast on both sides in a frypan and voila!

We had BBQ chicken ones last night with salad. SO easy and delicious.

Suzi here! The curtain material I found at a popular fabric shop here in Australia called Spotlight. It wasn't expensive and isn't a brand name, although it certainly does a good job of evoking Marimekko!

I'm glad we kept that door. There were moments during its fourth coat of paint when I wanted to go and buy a new one. It just wouldn't turn white!

The alphabet cards are by Jenn Ski - such an amazingly talented artist. You can find her prints on Etsy. Theodore and I go through the alphabet everyday while looking at the cards - great bonding time!
