Do not paint over loose, crackling,or alligatoring paint- that's just asking for trouble. That paint needs to be scraped, sanded, or stripped or the paint you apply over it will eventually crumble.

Not impressed by my glasslock set. Many of the locking pieces have broken and they are very hard to snap and unsnap, impossible for my mother with some arthritis.

Definitely number two. What will you use more, the dining area or a studio? If the answer is studio, use a smaller dining table or none at all. You could also use the dining table or half of it as a workspace. The TV jutting out from the wall is just not working for me at all.

They definitely are meant to be stacked. I have a low mid century table and a new modern sofa. The table is low, but works just fine.

Love the inspiration kitchens, but 2 things cometo mind. One, i love a pull out pantry, but it really needs a back on one side and a rail on the other to keep things in. Sometimes my things tilt or shift and the door gets stuck, since my rail isn't more than an inch high. A higher rail would solve this.
Second, a translucent door sounds good in theory for letting light pass through, but it will also create a way for anyone in the kitchen to see the shadow of the person in the bathroom. If you ever entertain, that could be...rather entertaining.

Can it squeeze in front of the window? I realize blocking the light source is not ideal, but that's probably the best option for this huge sofa. Honestly, I'd sell the sofa and get something in a more appropriate size. Btw,very thorough vacuuming job!

The after photos were obviously not posted in chronological order. It appears they finished the kitchen, took the picture of their son, and then changed out the sliding doors for a window and single door.

The after is fantastic!

Light and quick, i really like this mini makeover. Like others have said, the fan refers to the range hood, so that was included in the remodel. The stove and fridge are white in both pics, so while they are different, it's not like they went from almond to white or white to red-something that would make a big visual difference. This makeover looks great! I'd be interested in knowing whether the counters and time were diy jobs or not as i am beginning my own light kitchen renovation.

Put a plastic basin in the sink. Pile your dishes in there, move the basin when you need the room. Maybe into the bathroom or a free counterspace.

What colors are in the backsplash? If there's a gray, I'd choose that for the walls or go with white. Get rid of that dated curtain and go for nothing, a shade, or modern curtains/fabric. If you're up for it, update your cabinet pulls and hinges. The backsplash is beautiful.

Agreed, this does not look at all like a professional project. The plus side is that this does look like a real child's room. Perhaps the parents were being thrifty and reused bedding from an older child? I believe in gender-neutral, this to me is not neutral but obviously feminine. And like above, i don't see the growing with a child. Also, bumpers again! Get a safety disclaimer already, AT!

I have 4 Trader Joe's chocolate covered pretzels, a cookie or 2, half a donut, etc. nearly every day after lunch. So long as the rest of my breakfast and lunch is healthy, i see no problem with having a small treat. By denying what you really want, you'll likely over indulge later.
