Also, if you are driving to your vacation destination, remember to have a I seperate spare set of keys. My boyfriend drove four hours up north with family, lost his keys. His dad drove him half way to meet me with the spare set. Then they drove back to his car, then had to drive all the way back home seperately. A lot of unneccesary driving if you are unprepared.

I bet it would have cost less to get a locksmith than for all that driving. Hindsight is 20/20...

we went away one summer and came back to a dead fridge. There was a thunderstorm which caused a power outtage. When the power came back on, it was too hard for the fridge to start back up because of the heat and it killed it.

Any suggestions to prevent this from happening? Even if I had someone check on my house could they have prevented the fridge from dying?

So picky everyone... The weeds look lovely even if they're painted or toxic. Heehee. They work in floral arrangements, that's all they're trying to say.

I am a seller on Etsy and I see rip-offs all the time! So many people copy each other it's hard to decide who to buy from when you don't know where the original idea came from. One artist I see getting ripped off is AshleyG. So many copy cats!

I don't see why you couldn't have a flower box on the outside of the fire escape railing. I like fire escape greenery, too bad it's a safety issue.

i think a shoe hole would be awesome! Since we're doing a butt load of remodeling anyway, I think I may try this.

I don't mind dandelions, and those little violet flowers that grow in the grass.

I also like the show, "Weeds."

Great photos, looks promising. I really like the window treatment thing in the first photo and the loveseat in the fourth photo. Nesting Newbies sounds classy and comfortable.

This is one of my favorite house tours! Great colors and a charming mix of new and old. So much character. Very clean and organized. Definitely my style!

Also, I love it when dogs upper lips get stuck and they show their teeth. Frankie is adorable.

I love it. I also love the colors. Some may be tired of the gray yellow white color scheme, but it's so subtle and calming.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this post, the so called "objects d'art" is just sad. People on AT hate wasted space so much that they throw microwaves away...I doubt anyone who frequents this site would buy it. It reminds me of deparment store showroom decor which includes, cardboard tvs, globes that don't rotate, fake fruit and baskets of moss with strange twigs poking out...

I don't even think this is pretentious, which they might be trying to make it by labeling it as "objects d'art". It's just lazy and tacky decor for those who can't think of anything original to put on their credenza (which displays fake encyclopedias through the little glass windows.)

haha, good one @bodicegoddess...

I like it. We don't really complain about the neighbor who has a drab generic fence, so I don't think there's anything wrong with something fun like this, and it doesn't hurt to recycle.

In a round about way it makes me think of "the witches house" in Fox Point, WI. It's over the top, kind of creepy, fun and crazy. decorated with tons of statues and plants. Should everyone decorate or landscape like that? Maybe not, but it's interesting and fun to see.

I'm going to say dull. I think the preppy nautical theme is out for the time being. However I do think the model in the first picture looks chic. My friend had a blue striped denim couch similar to the one in the seventh picture, in the 1990's.

I love this post because the same rings true for me. I almost feel guilty because most people like to relax in their back yard, not me! I want to do stuff. Garden, play bocce ball, raise chickens...anything. I love this modern farming lanscape collage. Well done.
