My new theory is for very item I bring into the house, two items must leave. Food is the only exception. It's worked great for me. The items leaving can be big as in furniture or small like a paperclip.

Instead of wallpaper, buy fabric and adhere it to the wall using starch and water. You can peel the fabric off the wall when you are ready to move. No muss, no fuss and if there is any residue you can wash it away.

I bought a solid oak church pew at a barn sale. It was made by the Indians in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. The barn was filled with the pews along with an altar, vestments, hymnals and candles. No, they weren't starting a church. The people that owned the barn stored the items while a church was being renovated. The clergy didn't want the items back and the items were sold. My point, you find pews in the most unusual places.

Puppy is 35 pounds of smart. When I got her from the Humane Society, she was 7 months old. Since I didn't know her chewing habits, I caged her while I went to work. Each night, she would greet me at the door - outside of her cage. Turns out she was thin enough to squeeze though the square openings of the dog cage. And then she began to chew things while I was gone. Puppy would only destroy items that were gifts from a friend. After awhile, my friend seriously doubted the validity of, "My dog ate the ______ you gave me".

I agree with the other people that commented that you should take care of your dog first. Your puppy has been cooped up all day without any human contact. You are his/her pack leader. Your dog is glad you came back. Isn't it great to have someone happy to see you every time you come into the room? Get closer to your dog's eye level when you come home and give your animal some kindness. Set you stuff down and change into running shoes. Then, take your dog for a walk. Good weather, bad weather - your animal needs to know there's more to life than the couch and television and the big cold box with two doors that holds food. Try it. Works for me :)
