I had a nasty landlord back in 2006. I don't know if he had personal issues or what, but he was seemed shady, like he had alterior motives. Till this day, I have to explain the nonsense that appears under court dockets. My landlord sold the property to someone named Mr. Pesot who worked for some kind of realty/construction company. Dude didn't bother to give us a new address for the rent until a few days before it was due. We paid it. He lost the check on his messy desk. Then proceeded to sue us for non payment of rent. He never called to ask if we sent it or anything.

When I got the eviction notice, I was shocked. I always paid rent on a timely basis. Prior to he owning the house, I never had a problem with the previous landlord. I called him and despite my very kind demeanor, he was very nasty. He told me to send another money order and he would withdrawl the case. I explained I was a full time college student who worked part time and that I didn't have another $650 just laying around. The next day, I put in a claim with the money order service to stop the payment. He called 3 days later and said the check was lost on his desk. Then went on to charge me $50 for court costs when it was his fault for being disorganized. He agreed to withdrawl the court case....because he had no case. I was young and stupid and actually gave him half the court costs ($50) to withdrawl it. I just learned that this crap is still on my records. He was clearly inexperienced and hasty. I moved out in good standing, he begged me to rent another one of his properties, which I refused. By mistake I applied to one of his apartments a few years later. He had the nerve to say he didn't feel comfortable having me as tenant again. This dude is very iffy and clearly inconsistant. Actually, I would never want to rent from him again either so feelings mutual dude!
