I am a LEED accredited professional myself and truly believe in sustainable architecture. I agree with your article, that the LEED system is fairly young and a voluntary rating system, but it is a very good start. For example, the southern tip of Manhattan requires today that all new buildings have to be at minimum LEED Gold. Also the energy code is changing in NYC.
I did not know about David Gottfried, but the LEED rating system is already slowly changing from a grassroot movement to an established organization and I am waiting for it to be one day integrated into the Building Code.

The interiors of this house are spacious, breezy and beautiful! I am personally not drawn to the symmetry at the entrance facade, but I highly respect and truly like the modern architectural approach throughout the building. Making this house more sustainable and energy saving seems to be the perfect approach to upgrade this building in a very sensitive way.
