The owners did know these photos would be up on AT (see Editor's note). Knowing that they would be criticized so harshly, not so sure. Nevertheless, it's kind of frightening. Bathroom Invasion: Red Spots | Apartment Therapy New York |

I use this green oil that they sell in Chinese pharmacies - it's mainly made with menthol, but contains a few other oils as well. Not only does it make the mosquitoes go away (just put a few drops in a few dishes and put them around the area wherever you are), but in case you do get bitten, you can dab a drop directly on your skin, and the bite will heal. I always forget to bring any kind of repellent with me when i go out, but a dab when I get home makes the bites literally disappear completely within a few hours (provided you dabbed it on within 24 hours of the bite appearing). I'm with dallas10086 on this one - it could look nice if it weren't on the entire door. And in jewel-toned lush velvet/satin instead of the institutional white leathery material. And if the rest of the room actually coordinated well with it... which none of the rooms here do. But it could potentially look classy. Tufted Doors for the Home | Apartment Therapy New York |

You can kind of replicate the antique look by spraying on heavy duty oven cleaner to the back of a mirror, and waiting one/a few minutes to wipe off, depending on how worn you want the mirror to look (this takes off the silvering). Anthropologie sells some antiqued mirrors, although they're quite a bit different (they seem to be painted or patched with pretty paper, if I recall correctly). phillyMichelle, Target has a lamp that slighty resembles the lamp in the first picture, although it's considerably less sleek (but also less than half the price): http://www.target.com/Tripod-Floor-Lamp-58/dp/B001WS91ZE/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1 Lampshades in Color | Apartment Therapy New York |

I LOVE that first room! So many splashes of color! When I'm no longer renting and can paint/replace the floors, I'm going for white so the other colors can stand out. Lampshades in Color | Apartment Therapy New York |

Going back a little from the link posted by catspajamas, you can see it's labeled as a drawing by Jonathan Meader (http://www.jmeader.com/drawings/index.html). He seems to have received several grants/awards and had shows around the world, so maybe the bear made its rounds that way? The drawing of the actual bear is definitely the same as in the photo - just the placement is off a little, so I don't know. Source or Artist of Bear Artwork? Because of the froufiness, I'd recommend keeping the number of colors you use to a minimum, so a black and white photo/print would look nice. If you do use color, try to coordinate it with the other bathroom accessories and then it should feel cohesive. I wouldn't hang jewelry in the bathroom because of the humidity - they'll oxidize/rust really quickly. Apartment Therapy New York | Working With Plaster Ornamentation? Good Questions |
