Seeing this home inspires me to be less serious about what I think of as art for the walls in our home. I must get better about putting sentimental items into frames and getting them on the walls. I love the long line of little frames.

My 2.5 yr old son started singing a bit from Bread and Jam for Frances last night. Raspberry! Blueberry! Blackberry! I'm very fond of jam!

My 2 year old son loves this video. He thinks he should be able to watch this and OK GO's new redo of the Muppet Theme song on You Tube non-stop on the computer.

My sister and husband went to WSU so this has become a holiday tradition. My sister made some wonderful cheddar crackers with Cougar Gold cheddar and we've made grilled cheese sandwiches before but it is best straight from the can.

Bummer. Just one gear means this is not the bike for cruising around Seattle. : (

I usually just eat them raw since they are such a rare treat for me. But if I was to win a couple boxes I think that there would be some mango salsa for fish tacos and some sort of mango mixed drink. Oh, and a fruit salad with raspberries and blueberries and mango! So many wonderful options!

Oooohhhhh feta, how I love you. So versatile and so flavorful. I can't remember exactly what kind I get but I think it is Greek. My mom buys it in 1lb chunks and splits it with me. I love how it contrasts with sweet flavors such as winter squash and beets. I recently started making a salad with wheat berries, chicken, walnuts, cranberries, walnuts and feta with olive oil, thyme and orange juice as dressing. Yum!

I got one for Christmas and I am still getting used to using it. I tend to forget to use it and put my spoon on the stove top even when I have the clip in the side of the pot. Then there is the struggle of putting the lid on. When I do use it, it works well. All of my utensils have stayed in the holder, even a regular soup spoon.

I can't remember the full name but I have a tasty recipe from Cooking Light magazine called something like Chipotle Chili. It has a great smoky spice to it. Yum!

When we bought our house it had an old fridge that was making odd knocking sounds and was running quite often. We decided to replace it with a much smaller EnergyStar fridge. The obvious advantage of this is the reduced cost of running the fridge. The extra bonus has been that it has helped us reduce our food waste since it is not as easy to loose items in the back of the fridge.

I absolutely love the idea of crafting but to be honest I am still learning to love crafting itself. I have some basic, but rust knowledge of sewing and knitting but I definitely need some inspiration and direction to start some new projects.
My mom taught me to sew and knit. We would go to the local fabric store and she would get a pattern and fabric to make some clothes for the family and I would get a pattern to sew my Barbie an outfit using scraps from mom's projects. Sadly, I did not stick with sewing and my skills have been reduced to making duvet covers (i.e. sewing 2 flat sheets together).
My mom also taught me knitting but I can't not get beyond knitting a scarf and I've only ever managed to finish one. *sigh*
The long and the short of it is, with another gray and wet Seattle fall settling in I have decided to take on a couple of sewing projects to spruce up the house but I have not been able to decide where to start. Also, I now leave within a mile of my mom and I am really looking forward to getting her help on projects and being able to show her how much I learned from her.

Oooohhh something to help reduce the flour explosion that happens when I try to get the last bit of the dry ingredients out of the bowl into the running KitchenAid. Lovely idea. I wonder if they are hard to store? It doesn't look like they would stack very well.

I've got some apples from our tree in the fridge and I keep meaning to use them to make an apple blackberry crisp with blackberries picked in the neighborhood. I need to hurry up before the blackberries are done for the year.
