I agree with the bat comment, whilst your chances of getting rabies are slim bats carry a myriad of diseases some of which are becoming problematic. The hendra virus is something that has caused widespread fear in Australia as it began affecting our horses and only later did we realise it was due to horses eating bat droppings, from there it was transmitted to horse trainers many of whom died after coming into contact with infected horses, and whilst I am not an alarmist by any means I don't think it is something that should be played down either

Really have to laugh at the few people who see such positive, amazing and inspiring women and feel the need to attempt to tear it down with criticism..Who cares whether you don't like her glasses, they are hers, not yours, noone is forcing you to buy a pair..I think it really says more about you as a person than these amazing girls, or women, or whatever the hell they want to call themselves..good luck to them, if only more people were like them, and what an amazing home!!

Cb2 beverage dispenser - an exact rip-off of anthropologie's bubbled beverage dispenser. Although at a couple of hundred dollars cheaper I don't mind :)!

Love the idea of large tiles but never the reality unfortunately, it always looks too much like a hotel for me and too heavy...love those small tiles, where do we get them????

Glad I'm not the only one lol, my boyfriend collects old bottles that were dug out of the ground from when he was a landscaper. He won't even let me wash them, preferring to have the dirt still stuck to them. Drives me insane!

I bought a dyson expecting it to make vacuuming easier/almost pleasant however I found it to poorly navigate and the suction is almost too much, making it difficult. Made me really wish I had gotten the nilfisk my boyfriend has, so light and so powerful and quiet. The Dyson isn't bad but I never appreciated how good the Nilfisk was until I compared it to all the others. Just a thought!

@archdarling- I find your pomposity beyond reproach. Why on earth "should you not own that item"?? Did you consider that perhaps some people like the odd expensive item not because it costs an exorbitant amount of money but rather that particular design resonates with them..and given that a lot of furniture is quite overpriced these days it is not a difficult predicament to find oneself in. Instead I choose to spend my money on important things such as my childs' education, and am not part of the elite echelons who regularly pay $4000 for a bar stool, doesn't mean that I must live a grey, bland existence. And when we the words strive and aspirational dirty words?? They simply mean trying to better yourself- something you should perhaps try sometime.

Now I feel good about ignoring my boyfriends' comments of "you wont be able to ship that back to Australia" after purchasing a beautiful framed photograph at the Brooklyn flea that he assured wouldn't make it through customs. I had to guard my carry on luggage with my life and broke into a sweat as the customs official approached but it was worth it and I'd do it again!!

I love etsy too but like Sandy I find it so difficult to search through and find the same people listing 500 variations of their design tiresome to sift through. I really think they need a better system as I am sure there are some amazing things on there you can just never find. Love that fan, but $7,800 is ridiculous.

I too like most of the others preferred the before, all it needed was to paint that door in the distance white and paint it a less intense yellow and it would have been magnificent. Painting it white has really knocked the pop out of that room, it makes it look somewhat dark and dingey
