Knowing that everyone has their favorite design elements, this is my favorite home tour in all the years I’ve read AT.
Tim’s color choices are perfect. I have these grays in much of my home and I have never thought of that shade of yellow as an accent, but I’ll be finding a place for it now.
The pieces that Tim has used throughout are beautiful, thought provoking and really, come on, just cool (Well worth the possible B&E charge ;) Even though there are many pieces, they are edited and placed wonderfully, so it doesn’t seem cluttered at all. He’s done a great job of keeping the vignettes in an artful collection. I would love to visit and hear the story behind each piece.
I would like to see a decorative trim-work tying the bookcases together. I would choose another duvet cover. I love Tim’s headboard and think it needs to show off by having lower pieces on either side. I would go with mirrored pieces, because…why not?
Thanks so much for sharing your home.

There’s a good chance that if I leave my lunch in the refrigerator at work, it won’t all be there when I get ready to eat; I got this lunch bag so I could put my lunch in my desk or locker. I love it! I’ve used it for a few months and it’s as nice as the day I got it.

I have both closed and open shelving and I love it. I have four sections of open shelving – I use one section for my dish set, one for glasses, coffee mugs and coffee, one for spices and a bit of cute things and the last section of open shelving for bulk staples in ball jars. I have a closed cupboard above the stove for the vent system, one for storage containers and casserole dishes and the last for any can goods I might have. I think the reason that it works is I got rid of all the things I really don’t use. I know it sounds basic, but if you have spices that are outdated, or storage items that don’t have the matching lid - it’s time to purge.
Some might think it would take too much time to keep things organized enough to show to the world, like you do with open shelving. It really takes more time if you’re not organized. As for cleaning, if I don’t use it enough that it’s in the washing rotation anyway, I get rid of it.
