my daughters - 4 and 7, share a fairly small bedroom, so bunk beds are a necessity for us. They love them, and there is no fighting about who sleeps where. I keep a small step-stool in the room to stand on to say good-night to the top bunk daughter.

right! black-out curtains were essential in our nurseries, great for naps, summer nights and early mornings! I'm sure our babies slept better because of them. Other essentials were the change table, crib, dim light for night feedings/changings, and the beloved rocking chair. When I finally sold the chair, I got a huge lump in my throat, thinking of all the memories attached to it over 7 years and 3 kids - nursing, rocking and cuddling, reading books, and dozing with a baby in my arms in the middle of the night. Yes, the rocking chair was definitely the most essential and most treasured item in the nursery.

I love the Nato's blog! I was very impressed by their front entry makeover, doing something fairly simple, to make it so much more functional and aesthetically pleasing. And cluttered?? Please... I have 3 kids myself, and I know this photo shows it as uncluttered as it could possibly be! Good job Jamie and Nato!!

You can buy insulated lunch bags at many stores. Places like Gap, Old Navy, and Children's Place have really cute ones. We use a variety of plastic containers (like Tupperware) for snacks, and for drink, which is always water, we use stainless steel water bottles. The rubbermaid brand juice box also works well, and it's compact.

beautiful room, that wallpaper is amazing! We have the same nesting blocks, which my 2 yr. old daughter plays with for hours at a time! good work!

ek76 - the bed is from Ikea, and it's actually one half of a bunkbed.

jkbrawley - I bought the lanterns in Chinatown. all colors and sizes there and so cheap!
