At first I wasn't all that wild about the place. I mean it IS very nice, but a little TOO eclectic for me and I'm not crazy about all the lambswool thrown about. BUT once I saw the fireplace/outside seating area by the pool ... well nothing else mattered. THAT is marvelous and worth the price of admission.

Many craiglist scams start with someone who will email you saying something like "I saw your item on craigslist and would like to buy it. Please let me know if it is still available and what is the final price."

They always refer to "your item" never saying what it is that you are selling and they usually want to know the price, though of course you listed the price in the posting. They are not being specific because this is an email that they are sending to a number of people just looking for one that will bite. And these inquiries tend to come very shortly after you put your ad up. Whenever I get an inquiry that doesn't refer specifically to the item I am offering for sale (eg. "I am interested in the bike you have posted on craigslist"), I just delete it without a response.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful. The most beautiful post of the day (in a long time). What a bright and cozy and welcoming room for a child that adults can also enjoy. I wish I could be specific, but I just love everything about it. Lucky child, lucky you.

It certainly is "Chic Grandma," and I love it. The mixed-fabric wingback chair and matching ottoman are my favorites.

Nice.

Hmmm. I kind of feel like they need to go through the house and get rid of stuff. They are heavy on the shiney "luxe" fabrics and finishes, but not all of them are quality fabrics/finishes and it shows. If you are going to call attention to yourself you should be up to scrutiny and alot of pieces and elements in this place really don't stand up to scrutiny. Sorry.

This really is a great room. The combination of colors are perfect -- the orange is bold and the turquoise is very calming. Though all the elements are exciting, like the panelling and the mongoliam lamb pillows, it's not all cluttered and overdone. Even though you might say this room is a specific taste, it seems comfortable and welcoming and I think it would have broad appeal (evidenced by the fact that it is running neck and neck for the win).

I mean, Really. What can you say. It's awesome throughout. The downstairs formal dining and formal lounging room is my favorite. I've never heard of "formal" lounging, but I get it. If you are going to lounge around formally, this would be the place and the way to do it.

@B from Stockholm. I live in New York City and I don't have a clothing rack, but I dry my clothes on the shower curtain rod. I have a set of hangers that I keep just for that purpose and I hang clothes to dry between showers. Works like a charm.

I have thought of getting a clothing rack, but the hangers are easier to store and they work just fine.

Wow, this is one of the nicest homes I've seen on this site in a long time. It looks like it was done by professional designers. There is just a great balance and flow to the space that works. The color palette is not for me -- I don't care for reds, and oranges, blacks and grey in my own environment (I go for pastels, so ...), but that still didn't keep me from finding their place really attractive. It looks like a place they can really live in and enjoy. The art work is interesting and thoughtfully placed and nothing about the apartment seems forced or contrived. I really like it.

That's really nice, but I never got around to steaming or ironing my wrinkly out-of-the-package silk dupioni drapes. I don't own a hand steamer and they are just too long (and lined) to flat iron. Anyhoo, 10 months later and they are just about shaking out from their own weight. I guess I could buy a hand steamer, maybe.

Wow, that's cute. She packs a whole lot of homey into a small space. All the pieces are interesting and well chosen. The mix of patterns, colors and finishes are nice. It just seems to work -- everything you need, laid out stylishly and without a lot of clutter and junk. If your space is pretty and well-thought out, you really don't need a lot of if. I like.

Congratulations ! Its a beautiful apartment and seems like a really comforting place to come home to. Kudos for putting your design education to work right away. The combination of finishes -- the wash on the trunk, the gloss/"laquer" finish of the shelves, the sheen of the mirrored surfaces and chrome/steel/silver pieces is a nice substitute for color and really works in a small space. WELL DONE !

I like a wood back but a cushioned seat really makes a big difference. If you are like most, you probably use your dining table for more than just dining, ie doing paperwork, etc. And I notice that when people stop by my place, as hard as I try to usher them into the living room, they tend to hang out at the dining table as it is a perfect set-up for group conversation. That being the case, I would say you should definitely go for the most comfortable seats you can get. I actually bought wood back seats with cushion seats and ended up having the seats redone to make them a little thicker and more comfortable. As for cushioned backs, I find that people very rarely sit back in the dining chair and since an open wood back is lighter visually, I go for that.
