The advantage of using an outboard dac like th MH dac25.2 is that you get a higher quality dac than the on in your computer also the MH dac 25.2 uses a tubed output that further enhances the listening experience.

To the writer of this review....the reason that you felt the headphone sound quality was merely ok was that the headphone output goes through its own solid state module rather than through the tube, thus you were missing that tube magic you experienced when using the rca outs through your own headphone amp............Tubes Rule!
