Pretty, the table is cute and I love the backsplash! Also, I like that you went with white appliances- I just think they fit in better with white cabinets like yours.

Lovely. I've been thinking of doing the same kind of wood paneled wall. What kind of wood did you use and is it treated? Can you wipe it off easily? I was thinking of using scrap cabinet pieces since they would be treated in a kitchen-friendly way.

Love this! Congrats on creating what is easily my favorite design. It's inviting, open, and feels like it came together organically. Perfect!

thanks, everyone!
@mreiss it's birch plywood treated with oil (the same stuff i used on the counter tops from IKEA). you can get birtch plywood with real birch laminate that looks really good, too.

I love this kitchen! I'm curious about your experience with the West Elm table ... I recently ordered the same one and promptly sent it back because I didn't think the finish would hold up well (and I don't have kids!).

Not a big fan of wood normally but this looks wonderful. It also helps the not very interesting white appliances to stand out. I guess this can be easily done in rented apartments too, without damaging the walls.

Love your honesty on the "favorite dish" part :)... The wooden shelves above the counter look nice... a refreshing change from the regular wall cabinets... But considering, it is open, how do u manage to keep it neat and clean all the time ?

-the table is holding up OK, the kids have def. left a few gashes, but i don't mind 'character'!
-the stools are vintage.
-re: the neatness, it's a good mix of display and everyday stuff, the display never gets touched, the everyday stuff stays neat in its piles - easy peasy!

very pretty. I love the containers above the refrigerator...the wall, and the dining area.

this is a gorgeous kitchen, but where does the food go? I can't see anywhere to store dry stuff like cereals, pasta, spices etc unless it's all in the drawers, in which case where do the pans and utensils live?

hi brokenbetty - we have a pantry, so that meant that i was able to make the kitchen as basic as possible.
