We had to work with a tight budget and an awkward floorplan (the bathroom is off the kitchen!) yet it's easily one of our fave rooms in the apartment. It's cozy and fun but also very functional. It made us work together with what we had to make it work for us.
One challenge you overcame in your small kitchen, or a good resource you've found.
When we first saw the apartment, my husband hated that the bathroom was right off the kitchen. So, to turn a horrible inconvenience into a fun feature we made the bathroom door a chalkboard. Now, rather than thinking "ugh, that's the bathroom" we use the door for fun notes, recipes, lists etc. We love it.
Favorite Meal to Cook in Kitchen
Crepes! Both sweet and savory. My husband is French and making crepes is one of the ways we remedy his homesickness (and my longing for Paris!). They're ridiculously yummy.

I love this kitchen. Even the strange layout with the bathroom. I'm not even sure why, it's just cozy and the colours are a great mix. Well done. :)

Terrific job! And creating a blackboard on the bathroom door is pure genius.
I need to show this wonderful kitchen transformation to my niece who lives in Hamilton Heights in upper Manhattan. Her rental apartment has a quirky layout similar to Qimmah's, and she also has a tight budget.

I think we have twin kitchens. I have the same green, a similar weird layout, and the fridge is covered in chalkboard (instead of a door). Which is to say, I love it :)

My kitchen is also a rental, but, only 63 sq feet. Am still trying to figure out what I can do with it, as like you..on a very low budget. Do reallyy like what you have done though.

Sweet space! Would your fridge not "work" better if you reversed the hinges. It's something you can do yourself and it would make access easier - I think.
