Franklin's Apartment is Alive

What I Love About My Home
This place is really lived in - We make every inch count! In an apartment this small you have to think vertically - find storage everywhere. In order to make things orderly you have to find furniture that is multi-functional as well as cool looking. We store things in ways that are beautiful because we have to have everything out in the open. Living here forces you to try new things - keep moving things around. The coolest thing about living in our small space is- In a way - a realization that the apartment is alive and is willing embraces our creative needs. We used Benjamin Moore PEACOCK BLUE in the Kitchen and Benjamin Moore BLACKBERRY in the studio area. Don't let anyone tell you that a place is too small to use color! We have dinner parties at our place for seven people or so - from sculpture work space to dinner table. Thats what I love about our small home.
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
MAKING IT MULTI FUNCTIONAL: I am a sculptor and in need of a work space, and plenty of wall space to work on. We also regularly have professional photo shoots in our apartment that need to utilize backdrops, tripods, models, make up artists and stylists. Everything needs to be used for many purposes and must look great while doing several jobs at once. With all of this activity and "stuff" I didn't want it to look like a storage shed. In addition, our two windows look out onto a brick wall so it can get dark - but we dove in and colored the walls saturated colors and stacked mirrors on top of mirrors.
