760What I Love About My Home
I love the natural sunlight, the closet space, and the apartment's character. When I moved in, everything just seemed to have a spot and I didn't have to spend lots of time trying to figure out where things would go. I'm also proud I was able to get things relatively inexpensively; sources include hand-me-downs, craigslist, some DIY stuff, and lots and lots of garage sales. All put together, I hope my apartment serves as a reflection of me!
Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home
Choosing furniture and treatments that are not only cost-effective, but able to transition from space to space and aren't too trendy. I don't want to look at all my stuff in 5 years and wonder what the heck I was thinking!

Where did you find those awesome curtains?

I know what you're going for and you're almost there with a few tweaks...the coffee table is a definite "what the heck was I thinking (when I took this from my grandma's house)" and the too-small-scale of a rug under the dining table doesn't work either. But you're off to a great start and I can tell a lot of thought went into choosing art work and curtains etc that pick up a color theme.

Love the rug in your living room and yellow chair. Where did you find them?

That bathroom tile is in every single Milwaukee apartment, I swear! I've lived in a few of them myself. =)
I like the breezy curtain in the kitchen. Nice touch. It can be a difficult task to personalize an apartment kitchen at times, but I think you've handled the job quite well!

@Johanna D - it's not exact, but here's a similar chair from Overstock.com:

I love the colours and I hope you post where you got that great blue rug. I also enjoy that the trim isn't white!

I think that chair is from Target.

Yay for a fellow Milwaukeean! Nice name, by the way. Now you're inspiring me to put a second Erin from Milwaukee on AT! Way to make a lot of colors work in your living room. No way I could pull that off.

I don't usually like colorful places, but you've made it very elegant. Vote!

I really like this place! Only suggestion: change out those awful lighting fixtures if possible *shudder*. Are the walls white? I'm going to assume they are white and say: fantastic job giving your place color without having to paint.

I really like this and I am a color person as well. Great job on including the tile in with the bathroom theme. I like the way you hung your art over your sofa as well.
Great job!

Love the coffee table and the rug that adds colour under the dining table but is small enough to not make cleaning a hassle. Not to mention the chairs being half on and half off an odd sized rug.

Am I the only one who thinks this falls pretty far short of AT standards? I read this blog to find examples of inspired, everyday design and there's nothing inspiring about these design choices at all. This looks like a "before" picture.
