What I Love About My Home

My home really reflects who I am and as such it provides me a relaxing escape. It is clean, modern, and refined, but at the same time it doesn't take itself too seriously, and isn't pretentious or stuffy. Each room shows you a different side of its personality.

Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home

Patience. After moving in, I had to resist the strong urge to try to complete my home all at once. This gave me the opportunity to pull from a much wider range of sources and inspirations, find pieces that fit with the others as each room developed over time, and save a lot of money. It really became about balancing the feeling of being settled with the enjoyment of the process of getting there.

I agree with everything you posted about your space and I can relate. It just goes to show you that good things come to those who wait. You are well written, you must have gone to Harvard...
Great style.

OoooOOOoOOoOh! Love that orange wall with the cowhide rug!

I, too, am resisting the urge to complete my home in a hurry. Now I have inspiration to look at whenever I feel the urge to do so.

Handsome pad. It doesn't look quite lived in yet, but it still gets my vote.

You had a great canvas to work with the the floors and windows but I love what you've done with your canvas. Styled to a T without looking over-styled. And what a great couch. Well done!

Great apartment. Love the minimalist approach, it allows the space to breathe. Well selected furniture pieces, that living room chair is just the coolest.

Thanks everyone for your great comments and support. In response to to a few of the questions:
1. The couch is Room and Board, I can't remember exactly which model
2. The living room chair is a Z-chair designed by Poulsen for Selig that I found on ebay (this one required substantial amounts of that patience, but I really like it, and am glad I waited for it)

I don't know if it's the lens you used to take these pics, but the place looks a lot bigger than 744 ft. Nice place.

Great apartment Dan! I would LOVE to know what the color is that you used in the living room. I am on the hunt for the perfect gray and this looks amazing. Thanks!

A couple more quick answers:
1. Correction - the chair is Jensen not Poulsen (I'm getting my Danish chairs and Danish soccer players mixed up)
2. The bedding is CB2
3. The grey is called Voyage by Valspar

Very well put and as a first time flat owner I am currently going through that.

Nice results with your place, really like the lounge feel.

I loved the couch, but I couldn't find the colour (did you have it reupholstered?) and could you confirm that it is this one:

@Kelvin K you're right, it is the Reese. I didn't have it reupholstered, the color is Salt, under the Tatum fabric option. Up close it is salt & pepper, but from far away it looks grey

The picture is the front of an old boat on a new trailer, I like the contrast of new and old in it. I got it from a great photographer I know:

The green backsplash in the kitchen is so cheery.
