What I Love About My Home

This is the first place I have been able to decorate on my own. I love the big windows and the flow from room to room. It is downtown, but because it's on a high floor the view is unobstructed. It so bright and happy.

Biggest Challenge in Furnishing My Home

It can be difficult to achieve your design vision when renting a space. I was living in a different city when I rented this space so I had to make a furniture plan using just a few photos, luckily everything fit.

I love everything except for the big office chairs, they remind me of being at work...but sometimes comfort is the most important thing!

Trust me, I hate the office chairs too! We are looking to get new ones soon. They are the next thing in our budget to purchase. Thank you for your comments.

I love that you didn't need to paint to create color in your place. Is that Julius Irving on the Cover of GQ??? Cool

It's actually a vintage GQ cover of Michael Jordan from 1989.

Yeay Canada! (I'm from Vancouver, living in Montreal) Your apartment embodies what it means to be clean, crisp, and classy. I wish I had a work space like yours!

wow! i love this space. love the white office. that needs applauding. most offices feel so not zen. and i love that you use no throw rugs. and the yellow is a unique choice that works so well. now all that is needed is to brighten and lighten up the kitchen.

Thank you for all the comments. My entry was just posted yesterday, I will have to submit earlier next year for more votes. I will have new office chairs by then!

I think your right.I love this! This is real and affordable.Maybe that's why it's not getting votes.People think they could do this themselves and many try and fail.

There is wonderful balance and flow in this space.

I love how simple and fresh your home looks. I usually hate mirror tiles but you pulled them off nicely!

I just love the dining area in particular; it's so simple and serene .... perfect color for the table too. I can only echo what others have said of the mirrored tiles and pops of yellow. Everything looks effortless.

In Manhattan, I've lived to two different apartments that faced brick walls. And, I've learned to find humor in bogus Craigslist ads that boast "gorgeous, sun-drenched" basement level apartments.

The amount sunlight in your apartment is to die for. You've done an amazing job incorporating this natural element into your design aesthetic. The yellow really pops and it all feels so bright & breezy. Job well done!

Gorgeous!! So simply but so nicely done. I feel the same about the office chairs. I fell in love with the white wicker-effect Gregor chair at Ikea, and am now the pround owner.

I took an objective look at all the entries and I agree with one of the previous comments that I can't believe you don't have the most votes. I want to live there!!!! You have done an excellent job of colour co-ordination, space usage, no clutter. It is welcoming and warm with lots of style. Good job!!!!

How did you hang those mirrors about the couch. ARe there now a million holes in the wall.? I like the mirrors.

Wow that is one sunny place. Lucky for you.

Ditto as to the empty frames.

The lamps are from ikea, mix and match base and shades

The mirrors are actually hung with 3M wall mounts, because i am a renter i could not do anything permanent. I was worried that they would not hold but one on each corner did the trick!
